But there are cosmetic differences. For example, the front bumper, where the intercooler goes. The HIDs, which he specifically mentioned add components, which could get in the way. His question would have been perfectly legitimate if it hadn't been for the fact it was on a brz the entire time.

However, I am slightly curious in the other direction. As I stated near the beginning of this thread, I think the front bumpers are different on the sides in front of the radiator. Before I had my brz I had scoped out an frs. I seem to remember there not an opening to pass intercooler piping through, which prompted my question. But now that I have my brz, I see exactly where he passed the piping. Can anyone confirm this either way?

This isn't true.

The HID ballasts reside in the engine bay and can affect the routing of intake (and intercooler) piping.

Talked to a couple manufacturers and it affected their intake design.
