250-260hp for $30K with 235 tires and a Toyota-sourced 8 speed auto would put a hypothetical GR86 at 3000+ pounds, a 0-60 around 5-5.5, and the quarter at 100 mph and 14 seconds. I'm not sure how well the FA-24 tunes, but to keep cost down they would likely pull it off the same line as the Ascent and with few or no changes. I can't imagine you would even get close to the capabilities of the B58, even if you rebuilt the FA24. |

We're all wrong. It's going to be front wheel drive, but literally just the left front wheel (there's more weight where the driver sits = better traction)

I don't care if the renderings are similar to the Supra. They look good, and would appear to not have any flagrantly fake air vents, which is key IMO.

And it will handle perpendicular flying objects better than the Tesla Cybertruck.

Disclosure: Part of this opinion is based off of years of experience in the automotive engineering world with both OEM's and suppliers, the other part of the opinion is based off of pure hope/dreams of grandeur of a factory turbocharged GT86.

That's true, but it must be noted that a lot has changed since 2013 in the engineering world. All I'm saying is that we should not underestimate how much value reusing engines from other platforms within the same company holds in the year 2020.

The current 86 is in partnership with Subaru, who produces the engines and cars on their old chassis. In light of this, will Toyota continue their partnership with Subaru? I don't know. If they do then will Subaru still produce the car or is it even possible? The rumor is that the 86 will move to Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA) because Subaru no longer has a RWD architecture. If it does move to TNGA then can Subaru build that chassis on their lines? Would a boxer engine even fit in that architecture? I don't know.

That has already been confirmed (see the front page of FT86club.com for reference to an article on it)

I don’t see it. I only have access to the BRZ Forum. I don’t know how to change it. Link?
