This is an amazing thread! Very inspiring. So sad to see so many vehicles written off in these days of so-called conservation/recycling. Opie, you are doing an amazing service not only to these cars that get to "ride on" but for our planet too! (or at least breaking even for all those carbon-emissions on your track days) :-)

This is true, our generation has become the throw away kings. Cars, like many other things, can be repaired, re-purposed or parted out to reduce our impact on this planet. And can be done while doing something you enjoy!

That acceleration looks like my Camaro in "Wet" mode... minus 300hp.

Here's a real lap at Sebring...

So the WRB 2013 arrived on Dec 28th and yesterday got its 16,000 mile engine installed into the 2015 hydro-locked FR-S. The WRB was hit hard...too hard for saving. Engine survived unscathed, just replaced the drive belt (cut) and the water pump (shaft play) and swapped over to the 2015 harness. Started right up first crank!

every time i see an exposed clutch fork, my first thought is "that should be greased before reassembly while it's still easy to get to!

At least the BRZ/FRS snout is replaceable! No repair kit needed.

Project 10: - Update 1:
Well this one has got a lot done and I just forgot to post it...

All the wiring issues due to the aftermarket alarm have been repaired and the alarm has been removed.

Installed the engine out of the 16k miles WRB car, installed a complete OEM exhaust system that was in the WRB car, changed oil & filter, drained and refilled transmission & rear differential and fixed a broken lug stud on the left front wheel...then went for a test drive and something horrible happened...

So the car started, ran and drove great, got about a 1/2 mile from the house and the car let me know that I had forgotten to torque the lug nuts after I replaced the lug stud on the left front wheel...and it fell off.

Bad news is that destroyed the fender, good news is that the car was so low that it landed on the front tow hook and nothing else touched the ground and nothing else was damaged

Soooo, got the wheel reinstalled and drove it home. Replacement fender is now at the body shop getting painted. Once that is returned the fender will be reinstalled and the front bumper reinstalled. Then just have to charge the A/C and she'll be ready for state inspection.

@Opie - this is what happens when you disrespect the WRB Gods!

Glad it was simple to fix. Things happen.
