Chinese made crap... hmm thats weird because when I was at Agency Power/Vivid Racing's REAL shop and offices in Gilbert, AZ - I noticed they had several jigs/prototype parts laid out for the FRS... They seem to be capable of making lots of cheap chinese parts in house IN ARIZONA. Sheeeesh.

If I may, could I see the numbers without the header? It would be comparable since the exhaust systems from other companies don't come with the header

he probably didn't respond because if you knew what you were asking you wouldn't have asked. it is 157% irrelevant what correction factor is used, and since SAE's actual standard is intended for Crankshaft HP ratings AKA BHP, SAE ratings at the wheels don't mean anything. For all intents and purposes yes these are SAE, if that's what makes you happy. |

Jigs for prototypes, prototypes to China, Chinese parts back. Don't know if that's changed, though.

Im sure they do outsource major manufacturing to china, as do most US companies. The debate here is not that they use overseas manufacturing, the debate is whether or not they solely produce cheap/shit/knockoff parts.

SAE corrects everything to a standard measurement. If there are changes in temperature or pressure, they are calculated and graphed accordingly. He can use other correction factors, but SAE is the most common I have seen from people in the US. Next question, were the ramp rates the same? Last edited by signalpuke; 07-20-2012 at 08:13 PM. |

Long time lurking around, registered just to post on this since I'm very interested in this system, if it actually works out.
The problem with the whole thing is, IMO Vivid Racing wasn't as responsible and professional as they should have been. Being a major vendor in multiple performance car forums, I'm sure they knew these result were very impressive, specially since this car just came out, and they were pretty much the first to claim these kind of major gains. So naturally, once they posted these result claims, there were voices from all directions doubting it's validity. If they really are a responsible and professional establishment, especially one that had some bad history and is trying to start with a clean slate, instead of just saying "you guys just wait until someone buys the product and you'll see we're telling the truth", they should have prepared all the data, videos and detailed complete info (at least which part produced what gains to add to whole 40whp) before even posting. And since there was all that hard R&D work done, I just don't see how is it so hard to post all that information up. I'm hoping AP/Vivid will step up and post all the information they have to prove their product is what they claim it is, and not wait until some forum member spend their own money and purchase the product just to prove their claims. I'm in no way bashing anyone/company, just stating what I felt should be done here. |

We are in a tech section of the forum, right?
Not the 'take my money' section...if people don't like tech questions, they shouldn't post here. I don't doubt that these motors can make power, but I like to know what I am looking at. |
