so now I need plans for christmas (single bachelor with no local family... or dog)

I usually try to take christmas, new years eve night shift, and thanksgiving. typically im more likely to celebrtate it to some degree if I have work that day.
on thanksgiving we brought in a mini pot luck for those in attendance. and last year on new years eve i watched the ball drop twice, and brought in sparkling cider and frank sinatra albums


whats even open christmas day? dennys? perkins? sizzler?

Usually lots of places open.

My wife and son want broccoli beef for Christmas dinner. Sure. Guess I'll have to save my gourmet mac and cheese for new years eve.

so i finally watched the new live action lion king.

meh. a lot of the whimsy of it is taken out by being too realistic. everything is as i remember the cartoon to be, but it takes on such a more serious tone being real. for me, it becomes more of a documentary than a fun kids movie without the unrealistic colors.

I’ve been looking at a mini lathe/mill combos. A bench top really isn’t that expensive.

Haven't watched it yet, I was immediately turned off by them calling it "live action" when it really isn't, its just a better grade of animation. I suppose technically Disney never called it live action, they called it "technically enhanced CGI" or something like that.

Two of my sons and I both watched the first two episodes of The Witcher last night on NetFlix. So far, so good, and Henry Cavill makes a much better Witcher than Superman. His angsty performance works better there. As a fan of both the books and the games, I think its a good representation of it so far.

Chinese restaurants and the movies. Just do the Jewish Christmas day tradition .
