I think he tried to say he looked online at his bank account and noticed they charged his credit card for the deposit.

That sucks. I also second Lipton Toyota. That's where I got mine at. And I had 7 miles on mine when I picked it up and it was perfect with exactly what I wanted and nothing I didn't. I had to wait just over a month for it to come in, but they got it for me.

You should ditch the Homestead dealership and try someplace else.

I would flat out say "There are plenty of HONEST dealers around the country where I'd rather go to spend my money." Also, if they spew BS like how the FR-S is being made for one year only, call them out on it. Heck, make a scene about how uninformed the dealer is in the lobby so people buying other cars would think twice about shopping there.

You can also threaten to ruin their rep online from your bad shopping experience - at the same time, you can tell them how you will gloat about a good shopping experience to see if you can get more out of them. Dealers need the local connections and it's a shame the bad apples are still ruining the rep of the good dealers who are out there.

This is why I refused to put down a deposit. There are GOOD dealers out there but there are even more shady ones around. You will find the car, I promise. Just when I decided that I was going to wait until January, the car that I had been looking for just appeared. It will happen for you too!!

The problem is that with the FR-S/BRZ in its first year of production, I would be hesitant to give up Florida "Lemon Law" protection on a car purchased/leased out of Florida.

It happened to me with a car purchased in Maryland and registered in Florida... and the Maryland "Lemon Law" didn't apply to a car not registered in Maryland!

It may be different in other states though.

Disclaimer: I'm not an attorney, and may be wrong, but like I said, it happened to me.

If you decide that you want to come to Orlando than let me know. I'll hook you up with my sales guy. Top notch, no B.S. and no mark up.

Yeah what sportsguy83 said. When I wrote this I had just gotten back from the dealer and was still, what you would call pissed.

Yeah I kinda went off on him at that point telling him that I have been following the car for over 2 years and knew more about it then anyone else there and that the fact that they had to increase the production of the call is somewhat clear that the car is selling like hot cakes so I seriosly doubt that they would stop the cars production, makes no sense. I felt like bitch slapping him afterwards.

So I went to the Kendall dealer and talked to the branch manager there and told him had happened to me and was sympathetic about it. He told me that he will help me out but I need to get the 2k back from the other dealer, I think he just wanted to me to get the money back so it doesn't feel like I have money all over the place. Anyway, told them what I wanted and what I didn't want. We will see how this goes. I do have a good feeling about this tho, at the other dealer I didn't have a good feeling the whole time, probably should have went with my gut.

Yeah, let's spend hundreds of millions on development costs just to make the car for one year...what a tard. Wow, I don't think I would have handled it well had I been there. I always call idiots out when they're making up bold-faced lies.

***Tell Scion about your run-around, they need to know about these shady dealers.

Kendall Toyota had a red one last time I saw but it was AT. They didn't let me test drive it because "it was already someone's, and I couldn't go and add miles to it", while the reason I went in to see the FRS, was because I saw it on the road -_-

And since '07 developing it, then stopped, then back to it in '09. Also, after all the crazed reviews it's getting? Really?

When I go to the dealer to see it, FIRST thing I tell them is I've been following this car since '09 and I know about the 1st 86 thing, and how it's supposed to look like along with the price. That sorta scares them a bit lol

Yeah they had a white one and a silver one there the other day and yeah I couldn't drive it due to it being someones else's car, think they were both AT. At this point I just want a whiteout with nothing on it, just white. I know they have one coming in today that's white, but AT with options on it that I don't want or need. May just have to order one to get what I want.

White should not be a problem. Seems like 1 out of 3 cars coming to South Florida are white. If you don't mind mud flaps, check s/n JF1ZNAA11D1704932 at Scion of Melbourne. It looks like no dealer fees added. I've been in touch with Joe Manning <jmanning@toymel.com>.

Kendall Toyota in the US 1 or West Kendall on 137th Ave?
