It's blending in with the few spots of food substance splatter on my monitor. So, it doesn't look that bad. Also I need to clean my monitor.

Perhaps.. I was looking at the door handle thinking it doesn't look anything like the handle on my car.. I thought someone had swapped the handle from a SUV!!

My guess if there's no indent, is that someone parked next to you, maybe opened their door and probably accidentally nudged the edge into your door. Rather than actually swinging it open with enough force to actually "ding" it. They may not have even noticed. Maybe there's some paint transfer or something.
I've seen it happen. Most likely @humfrz's suggestion is the best you can do, but that looks fairly small anyway.

Once I've parked my old car to a shopping mall. I've finished my thing, and returned to the car. I had a few meters left to reach my car. A woman get out of a car parked near mine. And she hit the door to my car very badly. I reach there and saw it was a 3-4 cm paint scratch and the metal was bend inside about half a cm. Then her husband get off the car and started yelling at her. He said something "you stupid woman, why don't you pay attention" which gave me an impression that they had been arguing already. He came to me and said sorry. I could only say ok. Then they left. The car was red, and scratch was white. I felt awful, mostly because I didn't do or say anything. Now I'm glad I haven't said anything bad to them.
After all those years, I've got lots of scratches on my other car, some are even worse. And I've got a much worse one in my 2-3 months old BRZ, made by a naughty dog. Yes, every time it hurts. But not much anymore. This is just a car. Shit happens. I don't intend to repair it. It even makes my car unique, its mine scratched BRZ. Why I've got this car? To drive. Does that scratch diminish my driving pleasure. Not it is not. So. Fuck it. |

Yeah Dildo auto repair....I think that's the crew that put in a used engine("low miles, tested and runs great") into my last car when I didn't have time to do it myself. It had bad compression in several cylinders,
they still installed it and then couldn't figure out what was wrong after installing it. So I had to play mechanic and go buy a compression tester and show them why the engine was bad even though the car sounded, felt, and ran like garbage as if that wasn't enough evidence something was wrong. Surprised they branched off into dent repair since they couldn't even handle engine repair. I looked it up. Oh wait it's "Magic Used Auto Parts" in Pinellas Park FL. I was thinking because a bunch of dildos did the work that they actually changed the name to suit their business better. I am 5 years in and no dents on the sides other than the tiny ones in the front bumper that we all have. The day comes that it does, they better hope they do it and are long gone before I get there because if I caught them and they aren't paying to repair it, I will get my so much more than my money's worth back as retribution to their car before I leave the scene. It's one thing to get damage from road debris but when you inflict it on somebody else's car, you do the right thing and pay to have it repaired. It's just a car but when you strive to keep it in new condition and some dummy negates all that effort with their incompetence, they deserve the right punishment. Dents can be pulled/fixed, clear coat can be touch up, and even the base color can be touched up though if done carefully. So from the picture it looks like it isn't as bad as it could be. |

this is the point where my co-worker would read those directions out loud, look around, push me towards the area he was working and say, "ok, now what?"

Door dings are why I always try to park on an end space with a curb next to it. Door dings only happen on two sides of the car, so parking where only one car can ding it cuts the chances of getting a door ding in half.

Drives my wife crazy well crazyer because I look for end spots and get right up to the curb giving the other car more room. Many times the person parking next to me sees a wider spot and will park on the line, oh well.

I always have a bottle of water in my car. Living in Florida, there is always sand nearby. Sand sticks to glass if you pour water on it first. |
