OK, it's vacation time -

Our daughter and son-in-law have taken our granddaughters on a 10 day trip.

So, we are free to go on vacation -

Where to go?

* Palm Springs?

* Cabo San Lucas?

* Hawaii?

* Stay at home, sleep in and nap a lot?

Where do you think we should go for a week?

10 days? well if you feel like flying. warmer weather is the place.

otherwise I always like visiting the west coast in a bed and breakfast as a sort of retreat

best birthday gift I got was my gf renting out a mini cabin at a BnB place for a few nights

and then not giving me nookie >_>

So maybe that isnt the best idea of sorts.

if you wanna travel I hear San Diego Is good this time of year hehehe.

or vegas now that sema is over, you got the shows, the track, and top golf

mainly top golf

the best vacations are the ones where i lose track of time and catch up on all the projects i've been meaning to get to, but considering the audience, i believe you just call that 'tuesday'

Good idea. Today, I will make a list of projects to do for the week. OK, that's enough for today -

Sounds more exciting than my day, I've spent it trying to track down a parasitic power drain in our Suburban. Drains a new fully charged battery to dead in about 4 days.

Basically, if I drove the car more regularly I wouldn't even know it existed, but I usually only drive it on weekends and the rare family trip. Been happening for about a month now, with no other changes to the car. Checked every fuse today with a mulitimeter and found no unexpected power draw.

Ugh.

Haven't been able to find out much about it either except what's in the articles on this truck.

sounds like it needs a battery maintainer.

what year are you working on? i'd start with the ecm fuses, and then move to anything on the interior that has a memory

From: https://automedicsafrica.com/cause-o...battery-drain/

PARASITIC DRAIN
If you have your radio presets, security alarms or clocks running after the engine is off, it can drain your battery. The most common causes of parasitic drain are under hood lights, trunk lights, headlights or glove box lights that do not turn off when the door is closed. Relay switches that are stuck in the “on” position can also cause a battery to drain.
FAULTY CHARGING SYSTEM
A faulty or unreliable charging system can also drain the battery while the car is running. When an alternator is not pushing out enough voltage, which should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, the battery will drain quickly.
BAD ALTERNATOR DIODE
Alternators with bad diodes can cause battery drain. A bad diode can leak and allow the current to flow in the opposite direction. When this happens, it may keep the charging circuit on after the vehicle engine is shut off, which will cause the battery to drain.
OLD BATTERY
Batteries that are old or have been drained continuously may not hold a full charge anymore. The rule of thumb for replacing a battery is every four to five years.

All lights are off, triple checked and none of the circuits seem to be drawing power.

Not charging system. Charging system putting out over 14 volts even under full load, and was able to charge a battery easily after the car was jumped. Drove it almost 500 miles yesterday with no issues.

This could be a potential issue, haven't checked for that.

Battery was replaced immediately after the first occurrence and was charged to a full charge before being put in the car. Worked fine until the car was parked for 3 days.
