^^My mpg drops at least 10% in the winter for a variety of reasons, biggest being the winter blend fuel next being winter tires. When the fuel changes in the fall it drops 6-8% almost immediately and that's before I swap the shoes for the season.

It's interesting that you're seeing a 4% drop in mpg with new tires and I see about the opposite, a 5% gain with new tires. I guess the calibration of the speedo/odo isn't consistent but it could also be different tire heights and we run different pressures.

I run standard all-season tires on the OEM wheels. I definitely see a drop in winter. Here's a chart showing it by month. The black tick marks are where tires were changed.

Damn you get good mpg, must have a feather foot and never drive in the 'burbs.
