Piece of intake

Was replacing the air filter today and accidentally snapped this piece. The other side is still in tact, and doesn't feel brittle like it's about to break.
How urgent/important is it for me to replace the associated part of the intake?

That part of the receptacle is an alignment aid. As long as the wider part of the channel is still ok, the airbox will close tightly.

It's extra important to make sure the pivot is aligned before clamping the box.

Thanks for the response but I'm sorry, I think I need this in super lay man's terms. What's the receptacle? And where is the wider part of the channel? Which pivot?
Yeah it feels tight and secure, and the alignment tabs on the side of which the piece pictured above broke off is aligned properly.

Does the owner's manual have any pics of the changing the air filter?

edit: wow, I couldn't even find a decent pic in the service manual. You'd have to separate the two halves of the airbox to see from where that piece came. They hinge there in two places across the bottom.

Yeah I know what you're referring to, I broke the left side of the two, the right side counterpart is still intact and doesn't feel brittle or about to break

What do you mean by pivot though? By channel I'm guessing you mean the bigger half in front of the filter. If so, nothing else is broken off of it. Does the piece only align it, or is it actually important for a good seal? It feels snug, maybe because the kn filter is a bit thick.

It’s only meant to align it. But you gotta do it manually now.
