Not sure why this is a surprise. The M2 is heavier and has an older less capable chassis design based on a taller longer GT car rather than an actual more compact sports car. That's almost like those 86 versus Mustang or Camaro comparos.

M2 Competition w/ DCT:
Wheelbase: 106.0 in
Length: 176.2 in
Width: 73.0 in
Height: 55.5 in
Passenger volume: 89 cu ft
Trunk volume: 14 cu ft
Curb weight: 3628 lb

Supra:
Wheelbase: 97.2 in
Length: 172.5 in
Width: 73.0 in
Height: 50.9 in
Passenger volume: 51 cu ft
Cargo volume: 10 cu ft
Curb weight: 3372 lb

What is surprising is the M3 is lighter.

I read the owner was doing a test and tune on the road, lost control, and went into a tree.

The intercooler is built into the intake manifold on the top of the engine. That has to be a bumper reinforce or something?

And people think the Twins need at least 300 HP. These pics would show up everyday.

At least it didn't die on a dyno cuz some jackass was developing a "stage 3 tune" on it
