Good to see one of the most knowledgeable guy in your video. He is heavily involved in testing lots of stuff for this platform and you can't go wrong with his advice.
His car is seen predominantly on track and now on road with someone else driving and enjoying it, just confirms how he is headed in the right direction always. @CSG Mike , waiting for more videos from you. |

Hey all! Long time no post. So lately I've just been enjoying my BRZ and utilizing it for daily duties. Recently, I started working with Caruse Designs on a rear diffuser, spoiler, louvers, and rear lower spats for the BRZ / 86 platform.
I talked about a gave a sneak peak on the design on my Youtube channel. If yall care to see, check out the video and go to the 12:38 mark. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pemS3WkEoTg[/ame] For those who dont want to watch the video, here is a render of what Caruse Design is creating for the BRZ / 86 platform. These are just renders, but we are in the process of making the rear diffuser, rear spats, rear spoiler, and louvers a reality. Also, while my car uses the Drambeenie spoiler risers to raise the OEM wing and provide a sporty look, the spoiler being developed by Caruse Design was designed for the factory '17+ spoiler so there are no compatibility issues. Here are some more render shots for everyone I think they look pretty awesome and definitely different from the usual offerings. My latest video at Caruse Design has us testing the prototype spoiler. Check out the video @ the 11:15 for a more detailed view. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUVdjAcvST0[/ame] Anyways guys, thats it for the most recent update. I'm planning on attending Subiefest in southern california and would love to meet some more fellow 86/brz enthusiasts. So if you guys are there be sure to say hi! |

Louvers keep the sun out, and the car cooler. Those louvers look pretty clean as well. You got to earn the fire chicken decal with a V8 swap.

Hey all! Long time no update! So today I installed new OEM fender liners for the BRZ. During a previous removal of my bumper to install my Jackson Racing Oil cooler, I did not install the front passenger fender liner correctly and ended up running it over and thrashing it on the freeway. So I had to purchase brand new liners from Subaru.
Also several months ago, I purchased new to me wheels for the BRZ, Rays 57CRs in Sakura Pink from CSG Mike. They are very pink and so very girly and I love them. As you can see they are awesome, yet I'm concerned how they look because I feel they may clash with my crystal grey metallic paint color on the BRZ. Either way, I love them, and might have to wrap my car a different color if I want to use the wheels versus my TC105n's. Anyways thats it for my update, if you want to see the video where I talk about it more, check out my youtube video with the update. |

Hey all! Update time.
The BRZ has turned into my weekend car and just hit 23k miles. Two weeks ago, I was driving and doing errands in the BRZ and it threw a check engine light (P0016). I used my scan tool and found P0016 is Crank/Cam Position Correlation – Bank 1 Sensor “A” Long story short, I took the BRZ to the Subaru dealership in the city of Ontario for diagnosis. They had the vehicle for 7 days, verified the code, replaced the Cam sprocket, changed out several o-rings, changed the coolant, and an oil change. All the work was covered under warranty. I found the cam sprocket, 13320AA070, which Subaru replaced, costs about $270 new from Subaru. As I was driving away from the dealership, the check engine light came back. Per the service advisor, they are now going to replace the ECU under warranty. Apparently the P0016 code forces the sprocket to change certain values in the ECU and makes it impossible to reset the 'values' back to the original state. (Can someone with more knowledge on this explain this better?) So yeah, I'm kind of discouraged with my BRZ right now. The car is treated like a Queen with regular oil changes and it is giving me issues with only 23k miles on it. Does anyone else have similar issues and gotten the car successfully repaired? I've read in past forum threads that some BRZ/86 with P0016 code have been plagued with continuous issues and eventually lemon'd. I hope this isnt the case with my BRZ. Anyways that's it for the updates. |
