Looks light rear end with a touch of side impact. All lines up with what was said. Ask for $1000 off what they already said but take it if you get $500 more than asking off. On phone so don’t want to look back but it was still clean title not a salvage right?

Very cool of the bodyshop to help you out like that.
Keep in mind after repairing a car they'd never say anything negative about its safety or driveability etc. It would not be good for business. IMO there are still plenty of these without accident damage to bother with this car, but that probably varies based on your location.

The KBB values can sort of be confusing but that looks like a good buy for your area. You will get people where there are so many of these cars you trip over them tell you it should be far cheaper though. A quick look at asking prices in SC shows that they are looking for up to $2K more for 2013s and 14s and as much as $3.5K more for 16s which makes your deal look pretty decent even with the prior damage.

A guy about 2 blocks from home has one. The colour is OK but to me comes across as impersonating a high end luxury coupe which of course it is not. Hide the dirt really really well though.

if the car has had a rear body panel welded on walk away and buy another car, you have no idea if it was properly rustproofed, welded properly to factory specifications or if there was any damaged actually missed. As far as the rear body being part of the structure it is a structural part of the car. |

used cars don't work that way. they paid a specific price for that car to get it onto their lot to sell. to sell below that price would make them a charity instead of a car dealership.

It sounds similar to the rear end damage on my 2016 Corolla. The rear bumper bar took the brunt of the collision, but the trunk floor area was also damaged, which required welding in a new piece. Not a huge deal if done by a qualified shop. The rear quarter panels can also buckle and move easily. This is a very small and low car so damage can be worse if hit by an SUV or truck for example. I personally didn’t want to keep my Corolla, mainly because of needing to weld in a new trunk piece, and the large area of respray. My trunk never closed quite right afterwards either. Just little things that bothered me and worried me about long term ownership. Anyway, I wouldn’t fault you for buying this one with a discount, it could be worth it. Just be aware of small things that may become issues because of the accident. My advice, keep looking for an undamaged FR-S or 86 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
