Drawing inspiration from the GR HV concept could be interesting...
I'm still skeptical about seeing a preview at Tokyo. Although the Supra enjoyed a lot of free hype after showing the FT-1. That probably helped to get dealers on board. The 86 certainly needs the attention, and with Toyota of North America already axing cars that are low margin and the rumors about the 86 getting cut, I suppose they could be looking to show a concept to show that people do want a successor. |

"The main man behind the reborn Supra told Australian publication Motor" Another rehash of the Motor misquoting. At least this one was bright enough to sort of, indirectly, question the validity of the quote.

Exciting time, that's for sure. With the general doom and gloom surrounding the act of driving and the thrill thereof, the steady extermination of the manual gearbox, it's nice to hear that cars are still being developed for people like us.

More confirmation from Toyota on next gen 86

BMWs are shit now. I’ve driven just about anything they’ve made since 1992, and I’ve owned 5 of them. Still have my 2011 E90 335i. Anything made since ~2012 isn’t worthy of the badge. They’re uncommunicative, unresponsive, and heavy. Sure, some of them are damn fast, but none of them are even close to how much fun they should be to drive. The M2 and the 235i are the closest, but they’re still too numb imo. Last edited by Yoshoobaroo; 09-25-2019 at 10:56 AM. |

Nice, you turn your failings to write what you mean into the readers inability to understand.

As stated in previous posts and understand, these are not "Mine." In keeping with your sarcastic tone, you should have used the word "would" in place of the word "could". Fact, Toyota has the ability to build a car from the ground up. Fact, Toyota didn't with the 86 for very good reasons. (Read or watch any of the Tada interviews) One last thing; I think opinions should contain some basis of fact or informed intelligent observation. Too often these days opinions are formed by emotion, misinformation and personal bias. Yes, by pure definition it's still an opinion but... Just because someone yells something over and over and over again it doesn't make it true. Flame suit doesn't fit me anymore so I guess I'll get a little burnt. |

That would be very fun, and would be reminiscent of cars like the Mk4 Supra. As long as it still has enough room inside. It would also appeal to those looking for an open top experience, which right now is only the Miata. In this segment. I wonder if the new Supra will get a targa top?! Anyone considering trading in their current 86 if all goes well with the next gen 86? I'm having trouble deciding because my car is paid off but I was also considering getting the Supra. I would love to keep my current 86 to compliment which ever other car I get but space is getting limited since I also have a 91 MR2 turbo that sleeps in the garage.

If you like more weight and less stiffness, targa is great for that...
