There is a reputable tuner in MD for Subarus and my buddy got his STi protuned there for 500. I'd probably chose this guy if I were able to do it. Check around on Nasioc, they have quite a few tuners on there that are very familiar with Subaru motors. However, this car has a lot of technology that Toyota added, so I really don't know what i'd do now that I think about that. I'm sure tuners will start to appear on this website and build reputations, I've always heard awesome things about EcuTek....

Since the turbo is tucked up under the car (I would think it could pass visual inspection), what do you suppose the odds are of this passing smog in CA without greasing someone's palm?

I think we've just found the best feature of this turbo kit

Don I was wondering if this will be offered with a basic map that can be flashed on. I know every car is different. I got a basic tune with my ems for my v8.

I will be interested more towards Christmas after testing and the other half wants me to furnish the new house before I'm allowed to get this...

I'm right there with you. Have a miata sitting in my garage parked since I picked up the BRZ. I have a feeling at least one of them is getting some air forced through its engine sometime soon....

I was thinking about this the other day...

On smog day:
1. Remove intercooler piping
2. Install stock airbox
3. Install stock Cats (if you dont have them)
4. Pray the ecu tune doesn't throw any codes and passes the sniffer test

Theyre called Andrewtech and theyre 2 minutes from my house. I'm gonna take my FR-S there this weekend to see if they wanna use it as a guinea pig. This turbo kit seems awesome tho.

All ECUTek tuning for this kit will be handled directly by John Visconti. He was working on a general calibration for this kit alone. All pricing questions for tuning should be asked in this thread and directed so that John can see them. I'm sure if we put together an initial # of kits w/ an introductory price, he will do that as well for the tuning.

I'm new to the import tuning thing, but have been excitedly following along. This is my first Japanese car that I'll actually getting "upgraded". So, how does one typically go about upgrading and tuning their car?
Buy this kit, take it to local tuner (Jtran Studio for me I guess?), have them install and work up the ECU tune? I see most tuning shops also offer their own forced induction options as well. Would this be an insult to them to take this AP kit developed by another tuning shop to them for installation? Just looking for guidance on proper protocal. Thanks!

This. If the price is wrong, I'm keeping my warranty. But I'm trying to say this without sounding like a total jerk.
