My initial impression of this kit is fairly good. I myself need more power and i'll work that out as we go along. I spent a lot of time and money on this kit to make it perform the best it can in a long term general public perspective.

John Visconti drove here yesterday from Chicago. Dredged a monsoon and worked til 4am with me last night. If that doesn't say anything about his character, I don't know what to tell you. He spent countless hours fixing and revising and working out the bugs. The cars obviously not 100%, John and ECUtek will sort it out. I'm not that concerned about the tuning, although I must admit i'm not used to sitting in the background while someone else is tuning.

That being said, hats off to John and EcuTek and lets turn the boost up!:happy0180:

So now that I'm driving around. I went to the "speedbump" of death today for some testing. This is the cut through near our shop in which, almost all of the lower cars scrape somewhere. I hopped out of the car like a crazy and took some pictures for those concerned of being to low. Keep in mind this car is lowered 2.5" and its not the factory wheels.

ME ME ME! haha. I'd be so content with just the 4PSI, all I feel like i'm missing is the low punch that this clearly fixes. Put me on the list.

Yeah, I'm definitely IN, as well. Of course, the pricing will tell me how soon I'll be able to do it but I'm in.

I'll buy once I see the way the motor handles it after 4-6 months. I also want at least half the money saved up in cash before I buy. Credit the rest lol.

Turbo timer would be a nice addition with the lack of water cooling of the center section. If water was hooked up, you wouldn't need a turbo timer at all.

Would this setup benefit from a lightened flywheel/clutch pack? I notice that if you rev the car hard that it over revs when you let off the throttle and was wondering if thats a byproduct of the electronics controlling the throttle or if the flywheel/clutch are the culprits...basically since this turbo kit produces power to redline it runs a greater risk of over revving into the rev limiter if you decide to shift at redline versus shifting earlier (stock power output declines before 7k rpm) if it is the flywheel/clutch.

That is likely a product of the electronic throttle and the way it is tuned. But it would benefit from a lightweight flywheel and clutch. Overrunning the limiter is largely reduced with fuel/ignition cut rev limiters. Old limiters were just a fuel cut, and not only had issues with overrun, but could also lead to detonation issues.

Once you have figure out the boost/power maximums on the stock engine with all parts stock, will you please do a test with this setup with a full aftermarket exhaust, just so those of us who will be running such a setup have an idea of how much of a gain we can get without cats and with less restrictive pipes we can get? At least before you guys go full bore and build the monster we all want to see

I'll second that request, I'm sure others would love to see it as well. And 260whp should be easily attainable on 6psi.

I'm sorry if i come off as out of touch, but in reality I am. This is the first car I've owned in 12 years...during my drought I've owned 3 trucks and my main hobby has been my motorcycles...I just bought a 2012 Aprilia RSV4-R and getting that ready for track duty has been my focus, now its the FR-S's turn
It's all good man. Ask questions. It's the fastest way to learn new things.

I'm not to concerned about the Turbo price I'm more concerned about the tuning price and being able to go back stock for smog every couple years.

Luckily here in Houston we have a VERY reputable tuner that is excellent at tuning JDM vehicles. And for laughter's sake his name is Johhny Tran. Shop is called JTran Studios.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I've never had a vehicle tuned, so I'm completely ignorant in terms of prices or where to have this performed in Southern California.
