Nah, i always had MT, including my twin, yet i guess that am among those taking too seriously and felt that undeserved for AT buyers/drivers, even more so that know examples of opposite to skill/experience vs tranny choice in real life. Suggest using more emoticons, text often passes through emotions worse.

Let them be. Their clutches are taken away one by one these days. It must be too hard for some ... I guess. They will accept eventually.

BTW, you guys should really try an AT with JRSC. It was such blast to shift those gears this morning on the mountain roads ... and this music playing

If this car had more torque than its starter motor I'd have gone a.t. Can't believe this thread is 7 yrs old.

Also millennial. Also will buy everything except a Ford F550 in a manual transmission. Supercars and fast automatics are boring to me, I get enjoyment from involvement, much more so than acceleration or top speed. I think manual piques the millennial "instant gratification" need we are coded with, we won't wait for the auto to downshift when we floor it. Better to just drive in 1st or 2nd at 5krpm and gun it if a car with tint tries to saunter by.

Really though, I think it's no different than anything else. Some people prefer a Keurig K-cup Brewer, others prefer a filter in a basket that lets them choose their content. Scientifically, the portion provided with the K-cup is more commonly enjoyed. Some people still like 3 cups worth of grounds for their 14oz black coffee.

I'm sure there's a reason I still use a p38 for Spaghetti-O's that's the same reason I enjoy manual transmissions.

Your essays are so moving guys. Please tell us more how you much you like your sticks and clutches. You can't drive anything else, you never had something else, etc. etc. Do you feel a jolt between your left foot and right hand when you shift, it makes you feel connected, or should I say attached, right? If you don't feel the excitement that much anymore, I have a suggestion, you can run a cable from each battery terminal to clutch and stick to bring that jolt action back. Oh! you will need to drive bare foot though, and as a side benefit you will feel the attachment better! I get it now, MT is the ultimate union of man machine!

I find automatics mindless. They just 'do'. And that leaves more time for texting, eating, and mind wandering. That's not to say that i don't do those things with a manual, only that i do them less because the car needs my attention.

Man AT drivers get so butt hurt when MT drivers express their opinions on why they prefer them.

Not really, just tired of the trolling. I’ve driven stick all my life and still do. But drive an AT FR-S. it’s very efficient and is a nice change from “rowing through the gears” even that can get old..The AT is fantastic on track!

Also have no clue why MT drivers act like they’re superior in some way. The MT has been around forever and has been driven by little old ladies way before it was put into a sports car. And guess what? It was hard to drive those things. Today’s are a joke compared. It’s old tech that’s dying and will die. It’s outdated and useless in this day and age. It is fun for a while though
