Went to the British Car Club meet-up. Real nice people. There were about 25 people. It was quite different than the 86 meet-ups. My wife and I were the YOUNGEST couple there.

the front blades of a jet are at relatively low temperatures and speeds compared to the actual internals that see the jet fuel and compression. if his helmet hit the first set of blades that would upset the balance and the engine sputters and cuts out from imbalance.

Think about the incredible good fortune he had leading up to that moment. He didn't just live. He lived his life ruthlessly snatching each and every single opportunity he had. If that wasn't a full life then I don't know what is. What is sad about that?

The group has about 120 members total, and they do a lot of social stuff. We met at a park, then drove to a restaurant and had dinner. They do it once a month, and twice a month they have "coffee", cars and coffee type thing. In the winter, when driving season is over, they have "garage parties" where members host a party in there garage or shop. Sounds fun. And I am not the only Lotus. One guy has a Super 7. I'm just the only car built this century.

I know why MG drivers run in pacts, so that there will be at least one mechanic in every group and everybody carries at least one spare part.

I think, feelings has nothing to do with logic. My grandfather died at the age of 93. His death is still the most unfortunate thing to me. What ever you say does not change my feeling sadness about Senna. I just wish he lived more, and this has nothing to do what he was doing when he died. It's not him or you or another person who feels, it's me. Would it be more unfortunate if this lady died because of cancer? Ask to the ones who really loved her. I don't think so.

I hope you don't take my words as offensive Ultramaroon, being not agree does not mean that I don't like you

MomHawk and I have had conversations about this since I do participate in some "moderate risk" activities, motorcycles and airplanes. I've told her that should I die doing one of these I would hope no one would say "He died doing what he loved" because I can guarantee you that as I was flying over the hood of the car that pulled out in front of me, or drilled myself into the side of a mountain, there was nothing about those last few minutes I loved....

Still, a better way to go if you had to pick I suppose.

Sorry for her loss. Stuff like this makes me wish we just kind of had expiration dates. Like, maybe don't tell me the exact day, but I would much rather just hit that point and kill over than live long enough for something to fail and spend the last month of my life suffering. Suffering at the end is one of my greatest fears. I don't fear death really, but suffering for an extended period of time? That terrifies me.

It was funny. As we were following these old British sports cars to the restaurant, the exhaust smell was something awful. One guy had to leave early because his headlights weren't working. Some of these people have OLD cars, but at least they are still driving them.

Ah yes, the smell of running on partial choke and burning stale fuel. I remember it fondly. These people need to drive their cars more and push them a little harder. Nothing hurts a vehicle more than sitting for long periods and then just getting a little run time.
