That's easy. There's a kink in a cable somewhere. The ones get through fine but the zeros are too big to make it through the bend.

I am also that guy. I have never figured out if the fact they were not irony was her actual irony in the song all along.

Good. You do need to check for frayed insulation though. What will happen is the ones will get through (they are determined little buggers) but the zeros will escape, ride the outside of the cable and fall off onto your desk. No connectivity and just makes a mess. This was a particular problem with old parallel printer cables because there were 8 data pins so it really came out fast.

No we mostly live at least a couple of thousand miles apart. I am on the opposite side of the continent from most of the Random Thoughts crowd but have visited many of them several times.
