If everything said so far is truthful, speeding up a little to let the jerk by shouldn't be a reason to throw the book at him. The more I think about how it went down, the more it seems like it was entrapment with the Charger being cop #2.

Some people may find this hard to believe but law enforcement actually do lie sometimes. I posted a few months back in here how I got pulled over for speeding. I got in my car with a pile of takeout food and watched a cop sitting in an
adjacent parking lot sitting there waiting. I watched him pull out after me as I very carefully watched my speed pulling out and the next mile I drove to not go over even 1 mph since it was clear what he was going to do. Then, the liar,
pulled me over saying I was speeding. Not even getting into all the other details of what happened in him looking for other things to find I did wrong, he then said he had another call to get to and rushed off letting me go.

There are bad apples that work as grocery baggers, hair dressers, garbage men, and certainly there are some that work in law enforcement. They just get a pass most of the time as grouchy or "seasoned" verterans that have been through
it all and firing a cop for doing a poor job/being a jerk is like getting a President impeached. I totally believe the OP and think he was either railroaded here on purpose or that cop just really sucks at his job.
Every person that get's pulled over says the cop was wrong for some reason. It is human nature.

If the cops have managed to start using Fast and Furious movie logic and suspension of disbelief to be able to pull off opposite direction, high speed bait and traps you guys are all fucked. The only way that the trap would have worked is if every other car on the road was also a cop in on the whole thing so that they could regulate the speed of traffic and force the events. This is highly improbable.

We have not and will not hear the cop's version of what he saw so can not judge him.

They have a radio. They talk to each other. It is not about speeding, but reckless driving and racing. There are always plenty of cops on highways to actually write the ticket up. Where the other cop comes from isn't important. This is widely done and widely known to catch "street racing" everywhere. It is so common that up in Mass they have at least a half dozen cars people have actually identified are always police and they know the license plate numbers the police use. Baiting people into speeding is something undercover cops do as much as possible. Nothing new.

Complete entrapment. But that might not be illegal in all states.

Depends on state law. You are in Georgia, so it is probably totally legal.

Yes they have a radio. If the cop car had been on the same side of the road then there could be a remote chance that it was planned. This scenario is just far too complicated to have been a planned trap even with communications. It would take split second timing to pull off as described.
It was just pure bad timing and dumb luck that got him caught.

There are plenty of cops on the highways. I'm sure there was one a mile behind him and a mile in front. The guy on the other side just got lucky and hit it at the perfect time. Coincidences happen, and don't mean that is was planned or not.

Ummm... not trying to come over as an a$$hat but why didn't you just get back into the slow lane and let the tail-gating car pass?

Not in Georgia. There are less than 1,000 state patrol officers to cover the entire highway system, and as of an article I read a couple of months ago they have almost 1/3 of those positions vacant. (My son was criminal justice minor and they heavily tried to recruit him when he was graduating this year)

Georgia has 1,253 miles of Interstate, so yes, if at full staff and if everyone was on duty at the same time and on patrol, the could have someone posted every 1.2 miles.

Again, how is it entrapment? There were legal ways around the situation, and (assuming the car was driven by an officer, which I highly doubt for many reasons already mentioned) there was no part of this where the car behind forced the person in front to do something illegal.

The slow lane was full and they didn’t leave enough opening to get over I even put my blinker on for a moment and tried to merge. If you knew how to read you would know this by now. I said multiple times that the slow lane was full and I couldn’t get over that’s why I sped up. And once there was an opening the Charger took it. Coincidentally at that point in time a police was coming over a hill on the other side of the highway and assumed me and whoever the fuck the guy was we’re racing and it went downhill from there.

Overall, it sounds like you were stuck in a bad situation and it ended up poorly for you.

Probably not much else we can do to help you here other than the advice to lawyer up and have it handled that way.

Yeah I found one already. $1000 he’s worked the court I’m going to. Knows the judge. Says he should get the reckless and racing dropped and I should end up with a speeding ticket

Yes coincidences happen. If they are baiting cars to speed they are not relying on coincidences. The statement has been repeatedly made that this was "obviously" a bait scheme. If it is it was the worst planned and executed scheme in the history of schemes. A bait operation would have two or more tightly controlled vehicles traveling the same direction not one coming from the opposite way in the hopes he just happens to show up at just the right moment.
Not everything is a conspiracy.
