Question Can I get a confirmation for TRD lowering Spring vs Eibach Pro-kit

So after searching hours and hours on the forum and google, I have came to a conclusion on which lowering spring to get for my new RS.

At first I wanted to go for Eibach sportline for the sexy drop. But at the same time I want to run 18x9 on some 45- 50 tires, and plus I heard the sportline are having rear sagging problem.

Eventually I have decided to get a set of Eibach Pro-kit for the drop with some nicely fitted 45/50 tires on the 18s. Hope I made a wise choice and hope it will turn out great ( if anyone have pictures to share please post them)

Just last night someone locally was offering me a set of used TRD spring with SPC Rear LCAs for a low low price of $300 canadian only !

After some research I realized some people say TRD springs are actually just re-branded Eibach pro-kit? I mean that is a fantastic news for me, because then i will save hundreds just buying the used set. But some also say that the TRD only drops 0.5"/ 0.6" or ~0.8" ?????????

This is super duper confusing for me, so who is right? can someone please confirm? PLEASEEEEEEE

THANKSSSS!!!

I cannot confirm for this specific platform, but it wouldn't surprise me. I work in the automotive supplier industry, specifically for suspension components and this kind of thing happens regularly.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. Try not to over-think it. I'd say that's a killer deal and you'll be happy with the results so you should go for it.

45 or 50 profile tires are going to be WAY taller than stock on an 18" wheel... you need 35 or 40 depending on width.

Make sure the LCA's are in good shape, the tab can break off where the eccentric washer goes and then your adjustment won't work properly.

There's different version of TRD parts between north america and japan, from what I've seen the TRD north american springs are definitely more than 0.8" lower.

If you're on 18x9 I would suggest 245/35/18 or 235/40/18... definitely not 45 or 50 profile.

I can confirm that the TRD's are rebranded Pro Kit, at least in North America. The drop is about an inch all around and you should go with 245/35 or 235/40 with the 18's. I have the 235 and even if they are slightly bigger than stock, it doesn't mess with the speedo.

245/35 is almost identical as the stock diameter.
235/40 will close the gap by 4mm and give you a little more ground clearance.
