He's planning on retiring in about a year, before the lease is up. I will have to give the car back or buy it. Now, the car fund I mentioned is for a classic I want to own at some point (undecided which classic), but I could use it, if it's high enough at that point, to buy the 86 outright, and maybe even mod it then.

I just don't know if I want to do that because I'd be giving up my car fund, basically starting from scratch, albeit with more money in my budget to save even harder.

I just bought a car in February and our vacation/honeymoon is expensive AF. I should probably not spend more money on cars this year...

Not sure if you have decided on springs yet, but I've had the Eibach pro-kit for about a year now on stock struts (2017) and I love them. Enough drop to improve the wheel gap, not too low that I can still go over speedbumps and into my parkade at home, and the springs are not much stiffer than stock so the ride is still very comfortable as a daily.
