Thanks for the update. What month is your registration due for renewal? I ask because I thought it was mandatory to do the valve spring recall in order to renew our registration.

anyone else got theirs done at Longo? I'm debating if I should make the drive.. the one in my town said they'd need a whole week to do but only offer 3 days of rental.. not sure if they take their time to do the recall or just lag on it... thought? I highly doubt anyone in here had brought theirs to Simi Valley DCH Toyota...

My thought is the rental should last as long as the repair takes. That's pretty much how the recall reads anyway. I had the rental for 4 days because I had to drop the car off the day before the repair so they could start on it first thing the next AM.

Posting about North Hollywood Toyota
Great experience here for my valve spring recall. I called on a Friday and they said to bring it in on a Monday, they would have the parts. I also decided that when I got to the dealership, I would do a few other maintenance. My transmission is AUTOMATIC, so I had them flush out the tranny fluids. I also had them do a routine oil change. The man at the counter was nice enough to take out the charges for a oil change because they needed to drain and change the oil with the recall work. Spark plug i had changed also to combine labor fees. They gave me a nice rental car (Kia optima) and I did not have to pay a cent besides topping off the tank before return. Not sure if they are mod friendly, my frs is stock aside from K & N airfilter. Seems like this dealership knows what they are doing for this recall. 2500 miles later I feel like the car is running great. (knock on wood) 4-5 days of total take my car. cheers |

car runs fine, only comment I have is Longo forgot to tighten the bolts back to the motor mounts so the car was making a strange rattling at takeoff. I ended up fixing that on my own, and it's been fine ever since. Honestly was a little disappointing with Longo because that was a huge rookie mistake. I've since moved back to SD, so I'll be taking my car to specialty Subaru shops in the area from here on out.

Had my recall done at Toyota of West Covina and it went better than I thought it would. Called thursday and was able to drop the car off the following wednesday. They had worked on a few and let me know they usually take a week or so. They gave me a rental for free and it was done by thursday of the next week. I've driven about 2000 miles since then and everything is working fine. Hooray!

Time to add in mine.
Rancho Grande Motors of San Luis Obispo. Total time in the shop was about 10 working days. They broke a few of the manifold studs so they ordered a new manifold along with a new cat. They paid for all of it zero out of my pocket. The recall job went great after 1300 miles zero problems. There where a two minor fuckeries when i picked up car, lose battery conector, and open trunk. Besides that all went great.

Kearny Mesa Subaru in San Diego. Took 1 week and they provided me with a 2019 Outback. Replaced Spark plugs, TOB, Clutch and assembly, flywheel. Good experience.
