Actually, everyone should be praying to their favorite deity or magic elf that LOTS of people, even those with terrible taste, buy this car. That's the only way to ensure Toyota will keep making affordable, fun cars.

The lack of sales is what killed the Supra, the Celica, and the MR2. I'd rather see a few riced out cars driven by idiots than not have the car available if I want it and can afford it.

Unless everyone plans on buying 10 for their private collection of course...

I finally came to my senses and agree with this.

hopefully they sell well, but not so well that there are wait lists and silly dealer markups... supply and demand people.

yeah but they were working on an ap3 that got canceled. it probably would have been an amazing car, but we'll never know. and now honda has NO sports cars, only green cars. that's exactly what happened to toyota the last ten years and i could see them easily reverting to that if sales of the ft-86 are slow or the wrong people take over. thank God for people like tada-san and ceo akio toyoda.

I totally agree with you. They don't. That's why alot of S owners are looking at other cars. I'm going to keep mine but it's very disheartening that they're turning their backs on the enthusiast crowd.

Sticker queens can buy the car, I definitely don't mind that. Their purchases will help Toyota consider keeping this line alive, as well as, hopefully, reviving a few other projects.

What I don't want to see is that kid that recently saw TAKUMI and wants to DORIFTO into his local lamp post... that will cause a spike in insurance rates for everyone =[

Well until that happens, I will be driving the 86, as well as continuing to drive the S.

Sad, but true. All the talk coming out of Honda these days is only about being "green" and electric car this electric car that. It's going to be a bad few generations of Honda cars for auto enthusiasts.

I was PSYCHED when the AP3 rumors were floating around and like the rest of you I'm sad they canned it. Anyone know the exact reason? I know S2k's only sell like maybe 5000 units a year, is that the reason?
