Can't see this happening, and certainly not with the bbk.
Would have to be GBP 35k plus which would be madness

The only addition that could have any impact on HP is the exhaust, which they freely admit"improves engine response and sound" Read: No power gains. I wouldn't mind buying the suspension (and maybe the brakes in the event they don't cost a fortune, haha!) from Scion if they were available since I generally prefer OEM over aftermarket. An OEM adjustable setup is intriguing. Hopefully some of those parts will be available stateside, group buy anyone? |

Here's hoping we see the same thing with a Scion badge here in the states. With eeeeverything that's on the GT86 TRD, even the DRL's

Yeah, totally love the quad exhaust. The only problem is this car is not juiced at all w/ that 200-hp. In fact, if you take apart the exhaust system, the stock dual exhaust and quad exhaust here are merely for cosmetic reason. The whole exhaust system does not have separate pipes throughout.

The TRD japan exhaust is an axle back. I don't really care for it. The TRD lip kit is cool but I think the aerodynamics of the FRS/GT86 and the BRZ is perfect already without the lip kit. I like the TRD suspension. The TRD USA BBK might be cheaper. I heard at the Scion FR-S FIRST DRIVE event that the TRD USA exhaust is going to be a cat-back exhaust. It did have a different mid-pipe when I looked under the car.

I doubt if they brought it over they'd try and market a 200hp car for 45-50k no matter how well it handles...

Does anybody know how TRD and STI parts compare? Are all in house tunners pretty much on part with one another?

i don't get why the TRD parts are suddenly getting all this hate in this thread. here's a comparison test between the TRD and a stock GT86 with AD08s on 18 in rims and an HKS tuned automatic GT86.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hABzHIAfH8g&feature=player_embedded"]TOYOTA 86 2012 TRD HKS - YouTube[/ame] as you can see the TRD beats both in the quarter mile and the track, only losing out in the autox. it's clearly faster in the corners and the straights, which can't be explained by the exhaust and drop in air filter alone. clearly the aero, suspension and chassis bracing are functional. |

Even though the prices of "special edition" cars are outrages. I think they will give the car a better resale value later in life, increase collectibility pontetial and best of all the parts will be cover by your insurance companies.

The same goes for the Subaru BRZ here in the USA. A BRZ Limited goes for $29k US. A real bargain considering a similarly equiped BRZ in the UK goes for 27,995 British Pounds which at the current exchange rate = $43,830 USA!!! The only difference being the stitched leather knee pads on the console, and the stitched leather speaker covers on the door panels. O, and the UK gets all the plastic panels on the bottom side of the car where the USA only gets the driver's side panels.... Instead of a TRD model how about Toyota USA just bring over the 86 as a more upscale alternative to the FR-S. HID, leather, Navi, dual zone climate control... Clearly there is enough demand to justify this alongside the FR-S and BRZ. This way Toyota won't lose out adult buyers to Subaru looking for a more grown up version of the FR-S. The FR-S is an absolute WIN for an enthusiast on a budget but for an everyday car I would choose the BRZ just based on the fact that for a little over $1k more I can get HID, dual zone climate control, leather interior surfaces AND Navi... oh and Satin White Pearl at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.... I love my Subarus but would much rather be sitting behind that "86" logoed steering wheel with a Toyota badge on the nose. So please Toyota give the USA a Toyota 86 Limited...please. |

But they get a right side steering wheel in the deal ! that would cost a fortune to get it done here lol. Of course it would cost 40-50k in the states....
