Never even heard of those before.
That styling is so early 90s it is a wonder it doesn't have a fanny pack and parachute pants!

I only know of them because there is one that shows up at local autoslalom sometimes. Interesting car because it has an H6 motor making 250hp but they are boats at around 4000lbs making them poorly suited for autoslalom.

The SVX was an interesting car, but it was the XT that really changed directions for Subaru. The wedge design, as well as the cockpit-themed interior, was a dramatic shift from Subaru's pretty boring lineup.

Funky Subaru sports cars back in the 90's.
Had that dual window system going on where the smaller portion of the window was the only part that opened and went down. I think that absurd design had something to do with either allowing you to open the windows during rain (why would you....) or sound suppression during highway driving with the windows open...…...I think the DeLorean had that same window system. Very compromised when you wanted to get drive through take out lol.

Oh and at the time the 4 speed auto tranny was the best thing they had to deal with the power of the H6, and even that was barely adequate to handle it (transmission issues was common I think)

But...it was a Subaru sports car with 4WD!
I think it was less quirky than the XT before it (and bigger so it was more of a grand tourer)

Oh and people would still say "too heavy and underpowered"
Underpowered, overweight and overpriced!

My exceptional internet-based knowledge of car engineering and manufacturing dictates that it should EASILY cost 30k for the combination of 300hp, 2500lbs and all the amenities that I would want. Not some Yaris climate control knobs and cloth seats!

If Toyota would bring back the 2JZ and drop it in the 86 platform, they wouldn't be able to make them fast enough. People would loose there fucking minds. It would be interesting to see the reaction from the 2jz community.

Thoughts?

Really really stupid. Why put an old, outdated, inefficient engine in a brand new car. It would be a piece of garbage.

An inline 4 would be much better suited to this platform than a 2jz.

Obviously they would update the engine, but the 2jz is a beast that make tons of power reliably. The bottom end stock will support 800 hp
