Just so you all know the vehicles will not necessarily arrive in numerical order. the batch number is allocated when the order is entered. you could have 2 sequential batch numbers that arrive months and months apart. Has absolutely no bearing on delivery time

Looks like yours is 21,000 in front of mine! Interested as to what date your order was placed

Least we have our MX5's for some fun while waiting!! Bring on next Monday at Lakeside!! Gotta beat my PB of 1:09.55 but doubt it, too many other things on my mind .. like an 86!

By what a few have mentioned they do seem to run in sequence, was just interested in the one-day apart with mine and the one ordered next day, considering ONE Dealer here took 90 orders in 4 days

Prepared for the wait! I got a chart thru to end November showing every Monday and date and number of weeks to end November! Just cross one off every Monday morning!! Hell, it's like me counting sleeps from one track day to the next!! I GOTTA GET A LIFE!!!

The batch numbers aren't separated by model. And LOL at 90 86 orders in four days. As a dealer that has sold quite a large number of 86s I can tell you we are still nowhere near 90 orders. But cool story from your dealer.

mOnty

Largest Dealership of any kind in OZ and #15 Toyota Worldwide, my Dealer took 30 orders in 2 weeks! How many go ahead now knowing the wait is a different story of course!

They definitely do not run in sequence. the 86 I'm driving is 5726572. If they ran in sequence you guys would all be driving your cars by now!!!

I think the first 3 digits of your stock number corresponds to dealer number.

Last 4 digits correspond to actual stock number or sequence number?

e.g. blood86 had his number of: 5726572

Dealer code: 572
Stock number: 6572

Obviously it doesn't mean that there has been over 6,000 orders. Might be a numbering system independant of dealers, spec (gt, gts).

Purely speculative however and I'm just taking a wild guess at these things. Would be good though if we were able to find out what these stock numbers mean.

Another thing to take into account is that the stock number would only make sense to predict when your car is arriving if you compare with the dealer code since each dealer only receives 2 cars a month so the stock numbers would not really make sense from dealer to dealer..

My 2 cents on it anyways...

The numbers are unique order numbers generated by Toyota Australia. Keep in mind that ALL cars get these batch numbers, not just the 86. The number had no relevance to dealer codes. Its just a number generated sequentially when orders are placed with Toyota Australia.
