2019 BRZ Limited / Performance package.
So I’m in the market for a 19 (or an 18 of the price is much lower) and here is what I’m looking for...
White Limited w/performance package Manual Best price so far on an 19 is 29300 plus taxes etc Best price so far on an 18 is 27800 plus taxes etc Questions.. 1) Are there any changes for 2020? 2) Can anyone help me with the invoice / holdback / finance reserve numbers on a car equipped as such? 3) is it possible to get a 31k msrp car for around 25k given that it’s a 18?

3. There is a performance package white one at my local dealer thats a 2018. Its been sitting there for the longest time. I've been quoted 27593 that doesn't include TTL. So roughly 28200 otd for me. There was someone here that said they picked up a last year model (2018 performance packge) for 26otd so its dependent on the dealer.

I paid $26,300 for my brand new 2018 BRZ Limited, PP before TTL. That was a month ago. $25k is possible, but it won't be easy.

Invoice cost isn’t a reliable number to base actual cost to dealer. Incentives from manufacturer aren’t published and one dealer may have better incentive money due to their sales performance.
The only way to find “market price” is to turn your purchase into a competitive bid. The more dealers you involve the better outcome for you. Determine how far you are willing to travel. Contact the internet sales desk of all the dealerships in that travel radius and tell them you want the specific car and any options, out the door pricing TTT, all fees etc and tell them you have secured financing. Be sure to do get it lined up. They will play nicer. Tell them the date you will buy the car. The three dealers with best pricing will have a second opportunity for a final deal response. Don’t burn any bridges in case the “top dealer” gets squirrely on the deal. You can then go to the next guy. If any of the numbers change materially between written quote and what is presented on bill of sale, thank them for their time and leave. It sounds complicated but it isn’t. Set up a spreadsheet so you can keep track of everything. It’s amateur hour at most of these dealerships. Btw, most shops will have you talk to the”finance guy” after the agreeement. Don’t be fooled. That is their best sales guy who will go over extended warranties and maintenance contracts. It’s ok to listen. Let’s him practice his pitch. But for A Japanese manufactured car you don’t need any of it. German car is different case. Do ask about manufacturer financing. If the have 0% or 1.8% money for 48 or 60 months, compare it with the finance rate you got from your credit union. Which is lower? Have fun! |

I paid 36k total after taxes and everything for a 18 limited last year. The only stuff I added was all the STI aero parts underneath which was maybe 2.5k total. Really depends on where you are and how much extra taxes you need to pay. The dealer doesnt make a whole hell of a lot unless you go for all the extra protections they offer which was quite a bit. The only thing I took was the wheel and tire protection.

Thanks for the info so far gents... my deal will be mainly cash. I never buy warranties since they get modded.. it’s useless to get extended warranty anyways.
None of these dealers are really even nudging below 29k and I’m willing to travel to any part of the country to buy and drive back. I typically make a road trip out of car purchases. So it doesn’t matter where in the US the car is.

In my experience, paying cash doesn’t really give you a leg up when buying a new car.. car companies make more money when they finance new cars, so I wouldn’t expect to get a “cash discount”, you’re not doing them any favors. I would suspect the ‘19s will move pretty slowly, so try to search for a leftover ‘18 or wait a little bit on a ‘19 that’s been sitting. Discounts will definitely come..

See if you can find a low mileage 2018 like under 10k might be able to get a better deal

You should be able to get a 19 for 27 maybe 26.5
If it's a leftover 18 I would guess 1500 less. I'm pretty confident I can get a new brz pp for 26.5 before tax / lic. IF you aren't somewhere around there go elsewhere. |

I’m really not expecting to get a bigger discount due to paying cash... just trying to find the best deal possible. If it that I’d have to finance to get a better deal.. I’ll certainly do that and pay it off within a month.
