Because they were never free. It was built into the cost. In fact, in those days Verizon would give you a $25 a month discount per line once your phone was past two years old, if you called and asked for it.

Yea but remember the problem with averages. A 7" average snowfall in December could mean that there is 0" for 9 years and 70" in year 10, and next winter could be year 10.

Don't think they do that any longer. It's been factored into their new pricing.

Garage
So I'm not a major car forum person, this is the first car forum I ever joined that I liked. Since I'm buying the new corolla hatchback for a 2nd car I figured why not try joining a corolla forum so I waltzed over to toyota nation and signed up.

In doing so I found new appreciation of FT86club forum, Toyota nation seemed so much less active and the few questions I asked I get 1 smart ass reply "do whatever it says in the manual" which defeats the purpose of asking folks who have experience owning the car. After looking through lots of posts I found quite a few that are just retarded, and that's coming from a long time FT86club member so that should say something.

Point being I appreciate all you FT86club folks and Moderators, this is one of my favorite internet holes.

By the way, from what I understand the whole "free phone" thing was unique to the US, or maybe NA. Most other countries always had to buy the phone outright.

San Diego for three years and Albuquerque for eight after that. Believe me when I say that after some time, it goes way past taking it for granted. Perfect weather can be downright oppressive.

I love the rain. It's raining right now and I still have the urge to go splash in some puddles.

This is the only forum I check every day (OK multiple times a day). I belong to quite a few others, but I usually only go to them when I'm looking for something specific. Definitely a different feel, more like the "old" BBS days, for those that remember that far back, where the forum is more like an extended social circle for those with a common interest.

We had like 3 dry days in March this year. It's been kinda nice after years of drought.
