I almost hit a dog last night as I was driving to my girlfriend's place.

It was dark out about 9:30pm, driving in the right lane on a four lane road. I noticed a border Collie from the corner of my eye running towards to the road from the right, then dart in front of me.
I hit the ABS and flicked the car to the left and managed to miss it by inches.
I saw the dog run back off the road through my passenger mirror unharmed. A civic in the lane next to me saw the whole thing happen and I got a smile and a big thumbs up from the passenger.

Been 4 years, still haven't crashed.

Plan on taking a 3 hour road trip this weekend with no intentions on crashing during that either.

Drifted for the first time in this car in an empty parking lot at night. Did not crash. Drove it to work the following morning. Did not crash.

Drove my car to work today after it having sat for a week while MomHawk and I were lazing around on the beach in Florida. Car started right up, ran fine.

Did not crash, although it was tempting to do it just to avoid going back to work after a week off!

Been driving the company Hemi Ram for a few days while picking up materials for some home renovations. Almost crashed several times when taking off ramps at my normal speeds. The truck does not like those speeds in a turn!

Drove the FRS this morning. Ramp speeds back up. Did not crash. Not even close.

I have a bad habit of drifting my Suburban when I haven't driven it in a few weeks so I feel your pain!

Must be a Dodge thing. My first car (1965 Dodge Polara) had this:

Oh, and yes I did crash that one, into the back of a buddy's pickup truck in a street race. I hit him at probably a speed differential of 30MPH when he pulled over in front of me because of oncoming traffic. Put a nice ripple in the fender but that was about it.

I had a buddy back in HS that had a Hudson Terraplane that he let me drive. It had an electric shift like this - it was weird - I did not crash.

I drove my FRS to work today, just like every day. Did not have to deal with a push-button automatic transmission. Did not have to accommodate an awkwardly high center of mass. Did not crash.

Both of those are more acceptable than a knob since they at least have a distinct and tangible setting. The knob has just the faintest click between settings. I have had radio knobs with more tactile feedback.
Operation is like this.
1) Reach for shift lever on floor to reverse.
2) Not there.
3) Reach for shift lever on column.
4) Not there either.
5) Remember stupid bloody dial.
6) Reach down at awkward angle around wheel and turn dial to reverse.
7) Rev truck engine since it is actually now in neutral.
8) Turn dial to left what seem like one click.
9) Rev engine in park.
10) Concentrate very closely get dial set tp R.
11) Back up.
12) Repeat steps 1 through 10 to go forward.
