Yes, relocating is expensive. My first civilian employer used to pay me a months salary, plus ALL expenses for relocating me (five times). That was about break even.

$6,900 - UGH. Which reminds me, I have an appointment with the tax lady tomorrow -

I owed $5k this year myself. Won't happen again this year. All my withholdings went to zero (or state equivalent) and my tenants are getting central air.
