Anyways, that's my rant. I'll be over it. BUT today isn't a bad day. Got a news that as long as board members approve the budget (for my department) I'll be promoted! (in July) |

Thinking of buying/adopting a dog. My wife wants Shiba Inu, I want Golden Retriever. Shiba is mid-size, so they don't eat as much and it's easier to clean up... but they're stubborn as hell and require a lot of training. Golden Retriever is large size, so they eat a lot and do take a huge dump... but they're nice, cuddly dogs and easy to train. My fam had and live w dogs and other animals all my life vs my wife it's her first dog/pet. I was thinking Border Collie too... but they might be too active/smart for me & my wife. If you guys own other breeds of dogs that can recommend LMK
btw, my fam had/have Shih-Tzu (x2), Choco Lab, Golden Retriever, Doberman (x2) & Maltese Mix. Of course not all at the same time. Through out 30+ yrs & other pets like cat, bird, mouse, snake and so on. |

Oh yeah, they're def a goofy and fun dog to be with. One I had got jealous of Shih-Tzu and always wanting to get on the lap. Shih-Tzu weight 12lbs... I can handle that on my lap. Retriever was +45lbs! That killed the blood circulation REAL QUICK lol

Our last dog was a Chihuahua, Dachshund, Whippet mix. He was about 18 lbs. and could fly, and I mean fly. Looked like a mini greyhound with a Chihuahua face. He wasn't the smartest, but he loved us all to death. Before that I had a German Shepard. She was the runt of the litter at 45 lbs., and very smart and very loyal. I did school with her for a year. She was the best dog ever. |

I've heard Border Collies and Huskies are very high energy and stubborn. Whatever you do, do NOT get a Belgian Malinois. My oldest son got one and is about 1.5 years now. My god that dog is non stop, and too smart. You better have a lot of energy for a dog like that. |
