Do they have a rental car?

Appreciate the extra horsepower Take some long drives and take advantage of unlimited miles not on your own car. When I bring mine in for the recall work they told me I'll be leaving it for 10-15 days and they'll give me a rental/loaner so you can bet that I'll be scheduling some long work trips during that time. I need to be in Buffalo, Plattsburgh and all around central NY (your area) so that loaner will probably see 3-5k while I have it. They're gonna love me

Typically most dealer installed parts at 1 year, there are some exceptions. Where did you see 3/36 from Subaru?

I doubt that he gets a V6 as a loaner. Means he is not only lower in HP but it is a heavy car with an AT. Not exciting. Great time to go get some building supplies or such though.

I've been fighting with my dealership for a free rental. They still have no estimate as to when my car will be repaired, so I told them I've been patient enough, balancing 2 lives with 1 car for nearly 2 months now is patience enough. Service manager is going to bat for me right now.

It's actually frightening, they've been trying to "repair" my engine for 3 weeks, and continue to " notice" that parts are missing so they have to order more. I can only picture something like this in my head: "JOEEEE! The 2013 Yaris parts aren't fitting on here either! What in tarnation.. why does nothing seem to fit? And why are two of the cylinders are on the wrong side of the engine???!!"

At least my car hit 0 salt this year so far.

On a lighter note, the recall registry seems to have slowed down significantly over the past few days. I'm crossing my fingers the dealers finally got their shit together.

I guess I should also knock on wood.

How about this for a conspiracy theory:

Toyota is deliberately blowing up a few motors here and there to scare people away from getting the recall done. Every recall they do, they lose money. And that's even if everything goes perfectly. How many vehicles are involved in this? Like 400,000 or something? It would be much cheaper for them to replace a hundred motors if that scares off 100,000 people.
Don't worry, I don't really believe this. Just puttin' it out there.

Actually for Toyota its no where near 400K. It only impacts the first year Scion for them so my guess is maybe 1,000? It probably says in the recall somewhere but I'm too lazy to look.
