There is no time limit on the recall and the chance of the springs actually failing is minuscule. The best info we have is that out of the 400,000 cars involved in the recall there had been 97 failed springs. The failure rate from the repair is far worse then that. If busy just leave it for a few months and get it done when you have time. There is no urgency in it.

Yeah, I think I'll just do some more research on the details. Do you know if when the engine is replaced, they install new piston seals? My engines only got 30,000km but I'd love to break it in properly. Also, do you know what others have commonly got additionally done to their cars on recall like spark plugs, etc.? Thanks again for all the info you're one of the most helpful members towards me

No need for piston seals and they don't take it apart that far. Some have had plugs done for just the cost of parts. If a MT you can get the TOB done as well. All depends on your dealer though so you need to talk to them to see what they are willing to do. If you read through those linked threads there is a pile of info on what people had done.
