Hello everyone. Long time lurker so I figured I'd finally make an account after purchasing my 2015 frs. I love this car more and more every day I drive it. And coming from an 02 rsx, this thing feels almost luxurious haha. Here's a pic of her. All stock for now but I'm not sure I feel the need to mod her. We'll see...

Hello all!

Been lurking around for a while before I finally decided to pull the trigger on an 86. I wanted something small, nimble, RWD, and had to have back seats for the kids so here I am. After some research I decided I wanted a 2017 model 86 or BRZ with push start so I ended up picking up this 2017 860 86 6speed. I've had it for just under a month and love it so far. I come from a Honda background (2003 RSX 6speed, 2005 Civic 5speed, 2009 TSX 6speed) so going over to Toyota/Subaru is new to me.

Looking forward to spending some time in the forums, learning as much as I can about this car.

Welcome! (I'm rather new to the forums, not the car...)

You know that is one thing that I would have liked to have on my car, push to start. It is not a easy thing to add later. Other things that bug me are the fake carbon dash material around the radio and in front of the passengers seat. That will likely be my next purchases, interior dress up parts.

One thing I did spring for though is a OEM center armrest, That thing is awesome!

New here? Come say hi =)

New to the car and new to forums. I’m 19 years old who attends college and works a full time job. I was saving money and saving money trying to buy an fr-s. I finally bought one the same day I blew my engine up in my previous car anyway here’s a few pics of the car20190314/473ca661fb61c5ed649fdb5959a19124.jpg[/IMG]

I really like the interior of the 17+ 86. The the dash material that's plastic in the older years is a really nice suede type material. Also I really like the seats and just the overall looks and feel of everything. I don't care much for the dual climate but just having it there makes the car feel like a much nicer car. I know they're the same car and will drive the same but I knew I wouldn't be happy with the interior of the older or non push start trims.

too true, but I got my second FR-S used from a guy in New York for 15k with only 35k miles on it. I then could not really see the value in cosmetic upgrades that I could buy and install. The suede OEM dash pieces are 200 bucks on FT-86 SpeedFactory site.

Push to start is gross imo.

I wanted my "first car" to have the oldschool turn key.

The push to start and keyless entry are the only things I mess not having anymore. My last 3 cars all had them and I got lazy. Even after having the FRS for 4 years I still sometimes sit down, reach for that button then curse and mumble while getting the damned key out of my pocket.

This is my first car with keyless entry and push start so I had to get used to not pulling the key out of my pocket which was pretty easy to get used to and I love it!

This is my first car with it. I liked it so much I seriously looked into converting my ranger to a similar system(at least in 2016), but all the aftermarket keyless fobs are like carrying a mustard jar in my pocket...

Hey from Sydney.

Purchased a new 86 GT manual in white, pickup mid-May.

Traded a Face-lifted A45 AMG and 86ing till new A45s is available in 12-18 months, 86 will then become the weekend/track toy.

Super excited!
