Not sure who to ask, but possibly good to get a mod/admin to come in and delete all the posts are not specifically providing details on failures

I've driven it another 125 miles since. So far, I'm at 300 miles since the recall, and I've done city, highway and interstate driving. No issues, weird noises, or changes in drivability that I've noticed, other than the car did seem to idle kind of low when I got stuck in a traffic jam on the interstate yesterday. It was idling down to close to 500-600 RPM's, but I'm fairly confident it did the same thing prior the service... Hard to say for sure. The only other thing I noticed yesterday is the "cricket" noise appears to be gone. I used to hear them at idle, and they'd be very apparent at any drive-thru when the sound vibrated off the wall. For whatever reason, after 6 years of ownership, I don't hear them anymore. Is that normal? I think it would be valuable if we all knew what the highest mileage post-recall issue was. If nothing else, it would make the rest of us feel a little bit better when we surpass that mark. |

That is fairly typical after an ECU reset. My idle oscillates like crazy for about 100 miles after a reset.

Is lower MPG's also a thing with a reset? I normally end up around 28-29 in the winter, 31-34 in the summer, but am down closer to 25-26 since the reset. Haven't driven it any different than normal, and with almost 75% of the current tank being interstate/highway, I'm surprised to see it lower. It has been a cold week, so maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Would the ECU reset also have fixed my "cricket noises"? I never had it addressed before, as far as I know, but they're definitely either not there anymore, or just haven't returned yet. |

Failure After J02 Recall - Discussion Threads
Quote:
I could see MPG changing a little with a reset but I really don’t pay that close of attention to mine. I can’t think of anything that is done on the recall that would impact the HP fuel pump. Seems different brands of fuel have the biggest impact on the crickets. I’m sure they will come and go just like actual crickets do. Hahaha |

Thanks again for the help! I can't find the little icon that allows me to thank you, so I hope that suffices, haha. |

Had an AVG mpg on the dash at about 33.7 for the last few years.
When I replaced the battery last week it went down to 27 doing the warm up idle on first startup. Went up to about 28.9 over the next hundred miles or so. Then down to 28.4 at the next cold start. Got it up to 30 when I got on the freeway for a bit. It'll start slowly moving up with enough up to temp mileage. But I had to reset the clock and radio presets. What a ballache! Think I threw out my button pushing finger!

Update: dealership gave me 4 options. All are to purchase various levels of service as you'd receive from any shop, all over $5000. I called Toyota customer service again, was put on hold for 18 minutes, then told my call could not be transferred right because they're all busy, and that he promised me a 1 business day call back. How convenient on a Friday
