Do you have a reference for the Takeda unit throwing codes? I thought their unit hasn't been released yet.

Hello kidgogeta,

If you had them both on a bench, the difference you would find would be the overall quality of components, from the airbox, intake tube, couplers, all the way down to 100% stainless steel hose clamps, along with a superior fit & finish.

Thanks,
David

Id like to add that my car had a couple different versions of the prototype AIRAID intake, and the MAF was always located on a section of the piping that resides inside of that spiffy looking airbox.
I would estimate that my car was driven 500 miles or more with the intake installed, and it never threw a code, always ran as good as-- if not better- than OEM. As a bonus, the ugly sensor is hidden, and the OEM wiring reaches without modification, no extra stress or tension in the wires, either.

Wont need a reference because all CAI thus far have thrown them. You probably will not see that Takeda intake on the market until after ECU tuning is available.

As you can tell Airaid is doing their homework and wont release a product until they are confident it works as advertised.

We want to sell parts that not only look cool, but add performance without headaches.

Are you confirming that the Takeda intake throws codes while yours doesn't?

I'm not asking to be a pest or to give you a hard time. I'm a potential customer and am searching for the best intake for me. I'm just trying to gather the facts before I make my final decision and I'm trying to find the evidence that shows what Memphis mentioned, that all intakes up until now, including the Takeda, throw codes except yours.

On a side note, your intake has evolved into a very nice looking piece. Really liking the choice of all black.

All I can say is that the Airaid intake has not caused any CEL in our extensive testing. We are not here to say that anyone else's kit does or does not throw codes. I don't think that Memphis made a fair statement in saying that all intakes throw codes without first hand experience. Let's end the Takeda discussion and allow them to rep their own product in their own thread.

How upstanding is that? Here's a chance they can throw someone under the bus, and they that the high road! Kudos to Airaid

No intakes, or no CAIs? Because there are definitely intakes already on the market.

Not going to advertise for another company in AIRAID's thread, as I completely respect what they are doing here.
