I almost took a job with my City police Dept after college but I had 1 to many points on my license. Passed all the test and background check and was ready to go to cop school or whatever it's called.
thank Gawd I had those tickets. Chit job with worse hours, most people hate you, the pay sucks and Gawd help me if I had to shoot or had a physical conflict with someone that didn't look like me. I hate my current job but at least I don't have to deal with the news banging on my door. |

It's sad really because he would have been one of the "good ones".

I must be slowly developing the urge to add to the fleet. We just "lost" one as I officially turned over our Accord to my son as he moved to NC so there is a hole in the driveway.
I stopped at a local BP station last night that shares a parking lot with a higher end used car dealer on my commute. They had this bad boy sitting in the parking lot (2011 CTS-V). Looks brand new, not a scratch to be found, has all the options including Recaro seats and is relatively low mileage. The stance and wheels are even correct with new tires all around. Only "downside" is its an AT. I even like the color which looks dark green but is listed as "gray". It's probably a good thing the lot was closed when I was there.

My younger brother is a cop and firefighter. He wanted to be a firefighter, but it is really hard to get on forces here since cops and firepeople here make CEO pay. The only place he got in was a city here that has public safety officers that are both cops and firefighters. When they have less seniority they do 6 months cop duty, then 6 months fire duty. When they get years in they can pick one or the other. He is just works fire now, but is still a cop with a badge, so he doesn't have to worry about driving fast in his '67 GT350.

They are on the wagons. More common on the coupes but still the minority.
