Not sure, but I'd rather have the original Toyota stuff than BRZ if I have the option.

All I know is I would LOVE to get rid of these red accented seats. Love too. I hate them.

And dog hair....has become my worst enemy. They stick to these seats like no tomorrow.

That's it! I'm moving to Dubai and getting an 86. Do I have to learn a new language or can I get away with English?

Dubai is a multicultural city. And the language that binds them all together is English. So you're all set.

Although Arabic is the language of the region and locals. It is not enforced upon anyone. Any Westerner/European person does not need to learn a new language to visit or live in Dubai

Belgium has LHD GT86 and BRZ. But you don't wanna live here. Belgian government doesn't allow alot of aftermarket parts.

Perfect! Now I just need to find a job and residence, and all that legal paperwork, hehe. (I'm really getting sick of the U.S. in general)

Has anyone imported an 86 to America or Canada yet?

Even if they eventually bring options here for factory HID, climate control and keyless entry/PBS, it will still have that awful scion logo on it and on your registration.

I want the real thing, not a watered down replica.

Just checked the belgian toyota site. Base model GT86 costs $39000 in colour red. Another color will cost $500 extra.

Costs more in the Philippines due to taxes. Base model starts at $36,000 plus.

I don't remember what the Dubai guys are paying, I do try to check their member journals but it's been awhile since read the prices they paid. US and even Canada pay far less taxes than most countries, it's a fact. Importing one would be ridiculously expensive.

Seems like we had a Norwegian member who said tax rate for imports was 100%.

They're all built on the same line... so... doesn't really make a difference. All the parts on my Toyota 86 are branded Subaru anyway! EVERY SINGLE PART - including tow hook covers!

IMO it's probably easier to buy a BRZ fully loaded - and then just get a Scion FR-S bumper, Toyota badges, and if you really want, Toyota 86 HID headlights.

Swapping the bumpers would be a lot easier than trying to change over to the push button start, push button entry, dual zone AC, etc etc.

Stripped manual transmission cars that are much like the FR-S except without Cruise Control and with Fog lights - 95,000 AED - $25,865

Stripped automatic transmission - same as above but without Limited Slip Diff, and without paddle shifters - 100,000 AED - $27,226

Mid Range Auto (my car) - much more like the Subaru BRZ - features LSD, paddles, HID lights, Cruise, Dual-zone AC, Push Button start, all the bells and whistles except Nav and Bluetooth (I've added both). 115,000 AED - $31,310

Top Range Auto - same as above except with a colour coded front grill, trim around the exhausts, trims on the C-pillar, and leather seats - 125,000 AED - $34,033

They can configure a mid-range spec level with a manual box but you're looking at waiting quite a few months for that to arrive - special order only.

I didn't want to wait and I'm very happy with the response from the auto box when it's in sport mode.

Red paint and paddles to change gear - I think it wants to be a Ferrari when it grows up

Sweden has lhd GT86/BRZ aswell.

Car prices in Norway is nothing but insane.
The base model of a GT86/BRZ here in Sweden is 42k USD. I don´t want to think about the prices in Norway.
