Take the concept, add proper seats, remove the zippers, good to go.

This thread may get ugly.
1. Premium sound. This will be my DD and I don't plan to upgrade the stereo cuz its tacky. I want something good that ISN'T Bose or Pioneer. Give me something decent. I want tweeters and a small sub. HDD would be a huge plus, but not important. Like everyone else, I have an iPod. Connectivity of course. 2. Leather option. While alcantara would rock, don't even hold your breath. Leather shifter, boots, wheel, and such would be great. I love the smell of cleaned leather on a cool day. 3. Good seats. The base model can come with Prius seats for all I care, but the Touring and R-spec models better have huge ass and side bolsters. This IS supposed to be going sideways a lot, after all. Recaros would be nice, but I'd be happy with any brand as long as they are great. 4. Great pedals. I don't heel/toe well, but I'd like the option to be there for when I improve. 5. Shifter/Wheel location. This is important and determines whether this is a driver's car or a bargain basement hunk of crap. The Camaro and Challenger both, for example, have horrible placement of the shifter relative to the steering wheel. That makes shifting quickly a challenge. The Cobalt SS has a great placement with it being just where you expect it every time. Same with my Mazda6, albeit shorter than it used to be (but that's my doing of course). This is something that's different for each driver, but is important nonetheless. 6. Sunroof. I will never own a car without one again. Maybe that sounds poser-ish, but I love having that sun warm me up and sticking my hand up through. T-tops would be better, but that's a whole different category of car. ![]() 7. Easy-to-clean crevices. The Ion fails in this category. I want to detail it, so why give me spots that I can't reach easily and a design that allows dirt to collect in crevices between the dash and the vents? Google Saturn ion interior and looka t the vents. You'll understand. 8. Long console. I want four seats with a console flowing through much like the 80s-90s cars. It'll give it more of a cockpit feel and allow for more storage space in a car that will very lacking in that category. |

All black interior.
Power window switch in door panels. Some kind of center console arm rest that's comfortable while holding shift knob. no zippers. Decent seats. No back seats....

And just to point out to nay-sayers for this basically luxurious interior - hyundai genesis coupe basically has all of this. So toyota really has no excuse for an interior that is of not comparable luxury to that price range.
assuming i did the config right, a 2.0 premium is like 26-27k ish without any negotiation so...yeah leather, good premium sound system, etc. all doable in the price range This is just Hyundai...so I'm 99% sure Toyota will outdo them Last edited by Archer256; 03-29-2011 at 09:21 AM. |

As far a luxury features:
navigation satellite radio decent sound system (one thing i'm willing to trade a bit of weight for. things I don't want: heavy automatic seats (like i have now) sunroof (ditto) backseats(I know I'm dreaming) I gotta say I didn't care for the concept interior things I want: Nice pedels, I love the Z/G pedals. Very easy to heel toe and they look great. LFA style cluster (probably still dreaming) |

You're asking a lot mate :P Basically I want something comfortable, but serious-ish. And in all reality, cup holders would be VERY nice. There are no cup holders in my Civic, and my friends 95 DX w/ cup holder option barely fits a small drink in em. You don't realize how painful it is not having cup holders till you own a vehicle that doesn't have them lol. Proper position for seats (manual seats plox) and steering wheel. I don't care if its telescopic, I've never had a vehicle with that option so I'm just used to the up / down positioning and making that comfy for me. Pedals that are suitable for heel and toe. I'm no master in that technique yet, but I plan on developing that skill over this summer. TBH I don't know what "suitable" for H/T is really... I'd imagine proper size and proper distance apart. Sun roof and stuff can be optional, I don't care for / rage against the chioce. I do miss having one sometimes but its not a requirement for me. Power windows and locks would be nice, but again they are not required. If I can have anything to do with it, P/S should be an option. I know that won't happen but I'll find a way to do P/S delete. I want A/C though. Keeps the windows fog-free during winter :P A nice stereo system would be lovely, preferably with built in Sirius (get it... Siriusly awesome!) 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and we're peachy. hmmm no zippers please, looked like the 90's in the concept (minus the kick ass cluster). I'll take any kind of cluster TBH, but the one in the concept would be the sex. Beyond that I think I'm kinda done nitpicking. Back seats -- could care less, I'll never be in them. Boot should hold SOMETHING and have fold down back seats, or just be a hatchback lol. |

Its a cool addition, but never have been a fan of digital clusters. I have a zenki analog JDM cluster in my attic. Bought it before finding out how much of a hassle installing it properly would be...but would like it in there eventually, so, still have it.
In any case, Interior: Analog needle cluster Oil pressure gauge (no dummy light, blab on all about how unnecessary an oil pressure gauge is in a factory engine, I've learned my 86's gauge to the bone, and can tell when its even a half quart low on oil) Centered and aligned for a 'driver' cluster and center console arrangement Dash that won't effing crack Cloth interior w/ manual bucket seats w/ full lumbar support (loved this in the Supra...probably my only luxury want) At least one cup holder. That's really it. The zippers can stay or go, don't really care. I don't need a computer in my car, with a screen telling me where the closest P.F. Changs is or whatever. So no GPS, no other computer display driving aids, etc. |

A real oil pressure gauge would be mana from heaven. But let's face it: if they give us said gauge, it'll just be a dressed up idiot light like in the Miata.

I wouldnt even mind if it still came with zips etc lol.
Basically what I want is a nice sporty looking interior. Comfitble seats. Prefer leather. Radio. cup holders. Speedo/ Rev counter, +1 for a proper Oil pressure gauge Easy to reach most buttons etc. ( I would hate a boring/dull looking interior trim) |
