You would be surprised at how many first posts are just like this.
Hit the pot hole and lost traction. That sucks.

I’ll try and give you guys the best synopsis, I was driving on this road and it’s known for its right turns and steep hills. My mistake was getting too close to the edge of the road resulting in me hitting the pothole. The reason I was so close was because the street is pretty narrow and I couldn’t see if another car was coming.

With that being said I’m not trying to justify the accident or anything. It was a combination of bad luck and poor driver awareness on my part.

Thanks ! Everyone was okay. I financed the car but I do have gap insurance. I was talking to a mechanic and he said if nothing on the inside is messed it won’t be that expensive. He pointed out that I’m gonna need a new air filter and radiator and other little things on the inside.

No the airbags didn’t go off. Also I haven’t claimed it on the insurance yet. I’m waiting for the mechanic to check It our tomorrow and see if he can fix it for not too much. Reason being I already pay a lot for insurance and I’m really really trying to avoid having it go up

Well, alexes4, like they say in the old country - shit happens.

My take on this car (and many others) is the most dangerous time to be driving it is the first week and the last week you have it.

OK, so, hopefully they will fix it up or you may get another one.

Now that you know that this car "is NOT on rails", you are a leg up on safely driving it.

The secret of surviving is knowing when to hold them, knowing when to fold them, knowing when - oh, sorry, wrong game -

Take it from old humfrz, every car has its limits and every driver has his limits - so, on the surface, it's quite simple - just find out where the limits of each are -

HINT: a closed track is a good place to find out.

Yep, several of us older folks are still hobbling along on ye ol forum.

Your situation reminds me of the time I got my first sports car. It was a brand new 1970 MGB-GT and I was amazed at how well it stuck to the road. Especially since I came out of a pickup truck.

It was a hot day, back in 1970, I lived in San Jose, CA and I loaded up my wife into my "sports car" and off we went in search of twisty roads. We wound up down around Hollister and stopped in to show my new car off to my parents (they were not impressed - too small, no A/C).

There are several "roads" that are barely on the map, that lead from the Hollister area over to the coast. The road we took looked about like the one you were on when your mishap occurred.

I was going on this road for the first time and going way too damn fast. I rounded this curve, the car went air born and all I could see was sky. My wife screamed, I cut the wheel (while in the air) hard to the right.

I was lucky, the road happened to cut to the right, so, when I "landed", I was on the road. I pulled over, stepped out, smoked a cigarette and thanked my luck stars. Yep, THAT slowed me down quite a bit.

I’m guessing you were really enjoying it in the lead up to that. I imagine it should be relatively easy to straighten out and get going again. There’s a _lot_ of plastic up front to bend before you get to anything substantial.

Alas all the parts donor cars that I see around the place seem to take impacts in the front, so you’re likely not going to have much joy buying bits from wreckers to get it going again.
