Meaningless? That'd be your post that adds no value to the conversation. On the other hand I did caution the the OP on some of the risks and "hassle" involved in going FI. I wrench and maintain my own vehicles so having to maintain another additional system can be viewed as another hassle in vehicle ownership and maintenance. I have over 15k on my Rotrex with no issues either, but there are some who aren't as lucky as you or I.

Unfortunately not, I haven't made the time to take off the super charger yet, and I haven't gotten a response from Toyota if I can leave the intercooler in place.

I would go and talk to them before taking off SC. JRSC is so straightforward that any half smart technician can work around it without much effort.

Thanks for the input guys. As much as I want a little extra power, I think it’s best to just go header+tune in the future unless I get a beater.
Especially if I’d have to wait anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to get a working car if something happened. Even a header+tune are probably a small risk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The NA tune is of course ultimately a sunk cost, but not if you are enjoying the car with just the header in the meantime |

I want more power of my c38. What routes have you guys taken in order of getting more performance out of this supercharger setup? I use the car for drifting.
Currently have flex fuel, header, and full exhaust. I also have a hbp that I haven't installed because I don't feel like bending a rod. I have access to e85 but it's cumbersome to bring to the track with 4-6 extra tires so it would be nice to have the ability to run a 91 octane mix. I'm not looking for extreme amounts of power but maybe in the ball park of reliable 350-400 whp. I'm at an impass, should I build motor, swap it, get a turbo kit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you installed your hbp and ran e85 you'd be in your ballpark making around 370ish. Sounds to me like your impass is really: swap engines, or swap platforms. Here's my reasoning.
If you build your engine, you would then, without fear, be able to install your hbp and run e85 all day long, but still wouldn't want to lug around tanks of e85 to the track, so that's out. If you swap to turbo, how is 400whp on a turbo safer than 400whp on a c38? (assuming stock internals here) So thousands of dollars later you still wouldn't have your peace of mind about reliable power. Have you considered adding the HBP, staying 91oct and then doing some significant weight reduction? |

Has anyone installed the C30 kit with the JR Oil Cooler on MY 2017+’s??
If so, did you find it to have a really tight fit for the pipe coming out of the Rotrex that heads down to the IC. It definitely fits, but it’s basically touching the oil lines coming out of the sandwich plate, as well as another line running over it. My installer is going to wrap the metal parts of the lines with some kind of heat resistant wrap to prevent and metal on metal contact, but I wanted to see if there is anyone else who experienced the same and potentially how you found a solution. To confirm these are all new kits certified by JR to work on the 17+ and my installer spoke with JR who said there shouldn’t be an issue (which is technically true because it does “fit”, just not with enough room to feel comfortable). |
