I believe my mom still has my dad's Apple IIe in the attic. Wonder if it's worth anything.

A IIe was before harddrives. Everything ran off floppys.

I think it was the same for the Apple IIgs we had in elementary school. We ran everything off those cool motorized eject 3.5" floppy drives.

The Macs had external SCSI hard drives IIRC.

And this new 86 would have a wheelbase of a MR2.

IIe used actual floppy floppys, I think 5.25" . I did all my college papers on that thing. My dad was a big Apple fan since Wozniak and Jobs were both students of his.

Did your dad think that the two would go on to greater things that would change the world forever?

Garage
Still have an Apple II graphics tablet from way-back.
And an Amiga I had after that. I sold my Timex/Sinclair for what I paid for it. Winning Tiger Blood.

Got a head cold a couple days ago. Yesterday was snot drooling every 45 seconds.
Need to go out today and buy more kleenex. Beware around shopping centers.
I'm still highly contagious, though slightly less snotty. No guarantees.

I had one of those - hooked up to a B&W TV and a cassette recorder -

Runny nose huh - OK, while you're also contagious, why not come on over and babysit with my 2 year old granddaughter - you can wipe each others noses - I'll supply a bale of Kleenex from Costco -

I dunno about that. I suggest that they made prettier versions of the stuff that already existed. I'll give them credit for a decent GUI but have never gotten over how much effort they put in to hiding the nuts and bolts.

Clearly a winning approach. Can't argue with that.
