A cadillac isn't gonna sell. Still perceived as a grandpa brand. If US was the only market then yeah it's fine. But they're trying to make this a worldwide product, a competitor for established European brands etc. A Cadillac is just not a name that's associated with anything good outside of the US, apart from the CTS-V but even that one is mostly omitted.

I always thought Buick was for the old folks. Cadillac was for the hip old folks, for the republicans that must buy American and for the ballers with their Escilades. The models are almost as wild as Lexus is with their lights and lines.

But what do I know about anything, or about what the rest of the world thinks...

I don't know about the Grandpa thing ,,,, Caddy is racing some pretty bad ass cars.... seems right in line with a new mid-engine car

It is being built on an upgraded Corvette Y platform (exclusive, like Z platform is for Vipers). Of course they can change the name to anything in the last minute. But the latest info is that it will be a Corvette. Not a Cadillac.
Just FYI, Reuss becoming the president isn't gonna change much. I see folks on other websites going nuts about a "car guy" becoming the president. That is just a "climb up the corporate ladder" move.
