GT86 Seats Can anyone tell me what this is?
Hey all,
I'm thinking about buying this car tomorrow, but I don't understand what these blue seats are? I've looked all over the internet and have not seen them. Flags pop up in my head because it's just different. It's pretty much a brand new car with the miles. Any clue? https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=227946679 I have a 2013 Scion FRS. I'm thinking about swapping the seats out with mine.. I don't really like the blue. Last edited by Realm; 01-08-2019 at 01:05 AM. |

Look like seat covers, see the little tag hanging off them.

Yea I now see the tag on the front seat. How would they get that all over the back so tight? I'm just second guessing myself. I like stock stuff when buying. Probably thinking too much ha.

I can't find those blue ones either but look at SARD ones for example of how tight they fit/look.
Somebody in here with them: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37972 It's hard to tell on the SARD ones since it looks so stock other than them plastering their name logo the front of the seat. If they are in fact just a cover they look pretty nice except for the color. Too bad they didn't just stick with black. When the covers are new they look a little loose but they eventually tighten up and apparently you can steam the cover to make it fit even tighter. |

Well I'll find out and give an update on what they are (praying it's just stock black underneath)
I'm hell bent on getting it.. I'm going to sell my car privately (have to swap the exhaust catback and wing) I'm pissed I just spend 1200 bucks on maintenance a few months ago. (Spark plug change is over 500 bucks) As long as it has the factory warranty I guess I should not worry. Going from 93,000 miles to 3,500 should be nice ![]() PS I still love these cars, round two! |

I hope nothing. I think it's the year change thing on the price. (I paid almost 29,000 for my original after taxes and the extended warranty BS)
Whoever traded it in never drove it (hopefully something sitting in the garage) If I sell mine for 10g, I'll only be at 9500 + whatever taxes

Looks like aftermarket leather seat covers. My car had the $1000 dealer extra option for leather seat covers. Even though I bought it used it's one of those extra deals some dealerships offer, like window tinting or subwoofer add on.

Looks like they might be recovered with a Katzkin leather kit based on the tag.
If so, it should be decent quality. A lot of dealerships offer this if the buyer wants leather on a non-leather car. Carmax offers Katzkin too on its used cars, but only in black to keep costs down. Interesting color choice, but could be cool IMO. |

Well I got it. The seats are Katzkin, leather. The blue was not as bad in person, but I'd rather black or some other trim (oh well). Drives great and everything is tight like new. It had all the extras (wing, navigation, fog lights) The only thing wrong with it was one wheel scruffed up along the edges (curb).
After taxes, tags, dealership fees it came to $21,438. Not bad for only 3,462 miles. The new ones on the lot were listed for $29,000 before any of that. Now to sell the '13 with 93,000 miles : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...1QlDFNjvJFjMYL |
