Hi, Suzy here. I’m a week into owning a manual 86 GTS with big Brembo brakes, Sachs suspension, and 17” wheels. It’s an Apollo Blue one, which they’re doing in Australia as a package.
Very happy. So far I’ve added a full size spare and deleted the noise tube. I’m looking into a new head unit. |

Road Noise
Lots of road noise in my 2013 86. Anybody out there willing to help me troubleshoot? If so, and if it’s allowed, my cell number is (813) 728-9064. I’ll respond with assistance on your car, maybe lunch if nothing else! Thanks in advance. Greg

Bought a 13’ lava
Well I dove in and bought a 13’ lava frs. Had 53k on it. Carmax was great. They let me hear it start stone cold with 4” of snow on it. It has no issues that I’ve found yet. I had to get an auto just in case my fiancé has to drive it. I thought it was going to be horrible with the auto. But it’s not half bad. Certainly better than a lot of autos out there. And of course it’s going on a rack at work to check it out better before the 7day return is up

Awesome help. Thanks
I just bought a flooded 2017 86. It was not running and I was hoping like crazy
it would be a simple fix. It's getting more and more complex. Very thankful for the wiring diagrams posted on this site - have been extremely needed. Hopefully one day it will be up and running and I can post a pic. So thanks for all your help. |

Resisted buying an 86 for years
Years ago I decided to stick with my crop of Subaru's and not buy a BRZ/FR-S. Not sure why cause I am really enjoying driving this car. I am happy to be a member of this community.

Got into a 2015 FR-S RS 1.0 several months ago. Was in a VW GTI for just under 2 years as my first fun (and manual) car and wanted something more dedicated as driver's car. Drove the FR-S home to LA from Sacramento then hopped back in the GTI to bring it around the block to sell it and everything about the GTI just felt more numb. At that point I knew I made the right purchase! This is my first foray into trying to get into the car community. Looking forward to new experiences!

Currently I'm down to an '07 Range Rover Sport, '10 VW Golf 2.5, '96 Grand Cherokee, and an '89 BMW 325i, as well as a couple motorcycles (Ducati ST4 and a '79 Harley Lowrider). I'm in the process of getting rid of the 325i, Golf, and probably the Range Rover. I'll be looking for an FRS/BRZ in the lower range of prices, $13-15k, then rock the Grand Cherokee throughout our beautiful Wisconsin winters ![]() Notable past cars that I really enjoyed: 2000 Porsche 911 2000 BMW M5 1998 and '95 M3 2002 WRX w/a lot of mods and then quite a few sport bikes as well. |
