Me, I'm more of a Diet Mountain Dew guy, but I'll drink Diet Coke. I can't stomach Coke Zero though.

I'm more of a Dr. Pepper guy. Mr. Pibb is ok in a pinch, but come on, the guy didn't even finish his degree!

My company has done Visa cards, a gift catalog, and this year just straight cash. They give everyone $100, and because of the amount it has to be taxed.

As I was handing out the checks (we hand deliver these) and thanked everyone for all they had done in the year, I had to explain to about half the folks that, no they didn't take out "extra" money. They took out your standard Uncle Sam and Aunt Georgia tax amounts. It's just now you know what percentage of your check goes to taxes instead of only looking at the net like you do with your paycheck and the math is easy since the check shows your percentage. (Math made easy, if I give you $100, but you only get $60, your overall tax rate is 40%). I would then say if you didn't believe me pull out your last pay stub and do the math.

I had a couple that actually did it and came to admit I was right.

In the US we both prefer Pepsi but in Canada we like Coke better. They are not the same formulas here. US Pepsi is very close to the flavor of our Coke. The Coke down there has sort of a spicy tang that we do not have and just tastes weird.

Dr. Pepper has a PHD in deliciousness. I'm not sure we have Mr. Pibb up here, not on the west coast at least.

Sounds like the Canadian Coke is like the "new" Coke formula from 1985. It tasted like Pepsi.

Nope not that one either. We had the "new" Coke as well. The Pepsi here tastes different that there as well though. Much sweeter here.

I was going to go with "new coke" angle but see that's not it.

Any chance yours still has cane sugar rather than corn syrup in it?

Nope. In fact the corn syrup is made about a mile away from my house.

That's the part I don't like about Coke or Coke Zero (which uses the same basic formula).

It may just be a variance in the formula between bottlers then. I can tell a difference in Mountain Dew between some bottlers in the US.
