bought beer yesterday for the company Christmas party today. I got Miller Light instead of Bud Light and oh my gawd were some butts hurt. you'd have thought I bought bricks instead of life boats. I apologized for the free beer and promised next time I'll keep their sensitive pallets at the front of my mind. oh I also threw in a go f*ck yourself.

You think that's bad (and you'll appreciate this in Atlanta) try bringing Pepsi instead of Coke to the party. If asked to bring drinks, I always bring Pepsi products instead of Coke because 1) it's my preference and I'm buying and 2) I can always say "well, sorry, more for me I guess".

I'm going to guess they drank it regardless

We had a full turkey dinner at work. It was catered by a great company and was excellent. For the next two day all we got were complaints.
"We only got an hour to eat" Lunch is usually 25 minutes.
"The turkey was too dry"
"The turkey was too moist"
"They gave me too much food"
"Why was there no ... insert any meat you can think of here"
"There was no music playing"
"There were no glutton free deserts"
"Why wasn't there any vegan dishes?"
"Why didn't we get cookies"

Of the 200 people that attended we had 4 say "Thank you".

The whole thing is that it doesn't matter where you work you will get more complaints about this sort of thing than compliments.

Funny, my Mom is a Pepsiholic. We always had Pepsi in the house. I way prefer Pepsi.

You don't live in the birthplace of Coke-Cola. Hawk is lucky they don't lynch him.

Evidently, when you turn into a zombie, you get into lingerie and bondage. Go figure. Something to look forward to I guess.

Well the ones in the later evening hours maybe. The early ones were not exactly what you would look forward to.

a friend of mine worked at Coke. if he was seen with or had any non-Coke products by someone else at Coke and they reported him he would have been fired instantly.

I prefer Coke but if someone brought Pepsi I'd either drink it or just have water like I usually do anyways.

I hear ya. I won't get any thank yous for anything. I also got my vendors to give us a bunch of things like tools, coolers and gift cards to raffle off. not getting any credit for that either.

No one complained at our holiday lunch that I know of... We do a potluck of sorts where management does the mains and everyone else brings dessert and sides.

We used to also have a big fancy holiday dinner party at a local ballroom that was relatively inexpensive to attend. That was replaced by giving everyone a $25 Amazon gift card, which got some complaints I guess.

We had our potluck this week. It was ok, but we have too many people for our conference room now. We do a white elephant gift exchange, which years ago was an actual white elephant gift exchange. It was really fun and funny, but somehow it evolved over the years to where it is mostly just people exchanging $15 Starbucks gift cards. Super lame. I said they need to just call it the $15 gift card exchange now.
