Wait what?

...they have multiple threads dedicated to what are you eating/cooking etc. Even one only about nut butters(peanut butter).

One of the reasons I have such a thick skin is playing CS, US servers can be brutal. I actually find it funny now but it was more annoying way back when.

I carry so much crap in my pockets I could get a purse/handbag. I carry my wallet, a pocket knife, a key ring with a multitool and LED light, pens, cell phone, and occasionally a small flashlight.

A reasonable response but things like this are changing. Games have become more gender neutral over the years even though there are still a lot of male dominated hard core games. Cars are one of those kinds of things I guess. I thought it was an interesting topic anyway.

Hence why I've come to the point of accepting what they're interested in, and just keeping my opinion of an awesome car to myself unless somebody asks for it. (For reference, one of them saw my computer desktop and asked me if it was a, AND I DO QUOTE DIRECTLY, "Sports Prius".... )

But sadly most of what I have to say about the OP of the thread has already been said, so I'm out on that note..

Yeah, thanks for chiming in.

Same lol, Pocket knife, Wallet, Cell phone, Chapstick, Key ring that would put a janitor to shame, and a swiss army (I know, who carries a pocket knife AND a swiss army. One is for protection, the likes of which I hope to never have to use; the other is a utility tool).

When I can, I walk with a bookbag

Dayum, I thought I carried a lot...
I carry a mini pocket knife (2.5", I use this only for the mini scissors), a regular pocket knife (3.5", I don't actually ever use this...), keys, phone, wallet, and I feel like that's a lot already.

More on topic, it's natural to have male dominated and female dominated things. I don't even think it's culture, there are just things that males or females have an affinity for...
For example, math is like 90% guys, and engineering is probably close or even worse. Psych I hear is mostly girls.

a lot of it has to do with the social pressures we place on each other, anyone who dares go against them get's hammered back into place.

i feel bad for many women tbh, because so many online communities make it almost impossible to break into without immediately being singled out just based on sex. so many of these places resemble a men's locker room more than anything else.

in real life it's not much different, if she's into cars, sports or anything outside of fashion and gossip and isn't smoking hot she's considered butch/undesirable/trying too hard by both sides.

they just can't win. their interests are frowned upon and their opinions seen as worthless, so instead they just avoid communities/lurk instead of participating/registering.

You mean you're cheating on FT86.

I have no idea what you are talking about man, but I'll leave that wink to yourself.

If we're basing it on membership time and post count ft86club is definitely the mistress in this example.

There's no such thing as monogamy in forum memberships. I'm on at least 10 car forums, probably still post on 2-3 these days.

I can understand genders having more affinity to certain things. But I think you'll find the majority of these are from gender specific influences more so than natural born affinity. People aren't just born to be engineers they're subtly influenced over time.

I looked it up and Women are 24% of Scientists and Engineers using 10 year old data.

A fun fact that showed up in my polisci class was that 10% of US Engineers are asian while asians are 5% of the population.

That make sense. It's a bit ironic that the first two comments I got were basically, "that's life, deal with it."

The aus300zx forum and community are pretty good with female members and really encourage them. Just a few bad eggs at car cruises that can go a bit far, but that is a problem with the individual rather than the forum as a whole.

I have seen interesting things whilst playing online with women, particularly L4D2. The men in the group so out of their way to help out the female team members on either side, but that changes if she is whining down the mic

Fk whining. Lol.

"RUSH THE MAP. STOP LOOKING FOR SHIT. I GOT THE WITCH. YOU CAN'T CROWN HER!"

Yea. :l Lol I am... the total opposite of many female gamers. Play 2 win. Socializing with men over the game is lame for me. I hate females who do the "<3" or call someone sweetie. Pisses me off to no end. I also feel bad for men who fall for that trap. Bunch of towls. Lol

I haven't played L4D2 in awhile. Care for a game? :P Rusty skills are rusty!
