Luckily the Auto & Shop subtests doesn't factor into the AFQT score (the one that grants me entry into the military), just the line score - which determines my job availability/qualification. If I was trying to be a DC, Damage Controlman, then I would be worried!

Right?

If that's supposed to be an oil pump, it's a really shitty illustration of just the input shaft.

Yea, I'm thinking it may be a good replacement for our Suburban when it gives up the ghost down the road, although I may just go for a truck at that point.

Finally some good air in San Jose, and rain in the northern fire zone.

One of the greatest, and way under rated guitarist of all time died last week. Roy Clark. Now I have never been a country music fan, but you could not deny his talent.

I saw Roy Clark at the Circle Star theater when I was about 14. My Dad came home one day and told us all to get dressed up. My Dad said "We are all going to see Roy Clark." I thought, not that country guy from Hee Haw, I'm a rock and roller. I tried to get out of going, but Dad made us all go.

The Circle Star was a very small round theater with a stage in the middle that revolved. There was no seat more than 50 feet from the stage. As we walked in, there was about 20 different string instruments on the stage, some I'd never seen before. The show was just Roy. He explained what each one was and played every one. It was one of the best shows I ever attended. He not only played every instrument, but made them come alive with emotion, and his story telling between songs was so interesting and funny. He was a true entertainer.

For his last number he did Malaguena on a simple acoustic guitar. It was incredible. I am so glad my Dad made me go.

RIP Mr. Clark, I hope you are a pickin' and a grinnin' right now.

Yeah good stuff. Raining nicely here in Daly City all morning.

Only thing to worry about now is mud/landslides in fire zones.

Amen to that. If it had strings he could play it just about as good, if not better, than anyone. I own a banjo (notice I didn't say I could play it) because of Roy Clark.

RIP, I'm sure you are holding master classes on the Harp right now.

I do not mean to be insensitive, or an ass or anything, but I have a question that no one can, or is willing to answer or talk about.

The state is spending thousands of dollars to "search" for remains of the people incinerated in the Camp fire in Northern Cal. They are literally sifting thru ashes for tiny bits. They say they are lucky if they find a tiny bone fragment that isn't cremated to the point of not being able to pull DNA. So what do they do when they find a tiny cremated piece of human? Spend more to DNA test to confirm the fragment was your loved one? Well, they found it where their house was, and they are missing, and Grandma couldn't walk, who do you think it was? Then, what do they do with this tiny cremated bone fragment? Cremate the cremated ashes and spread them in the forest....again? Hand it to relatives and say "here, we found Grandma?" Just seems silly to me, and better for everyone if they spend the resources on the living and rebuilding.

I think you can't call someone deceased without evidence for the purposes of will/distributing valuables... Direct, not circumstantial. So they have to test.
If there are no claimants, who gets the land and anything else? And if there are... I guess they should bear some of the burden of identification?
Just a guess in the end.
